Kirkland was coming off an even bigger freak show than Ortiz and they were going to make that fight. Williams had been very up and down lately, and that fight was going to get made. There is no perfect fight.

 

technically JK was coming off 2 wins( one of them, biggest upset in mexico) and PW just beat the guy who beat the guy( Ishida) and his gift against Lara counts as a Win.I didn't have a problem about fighting a healthy JK or PW.
But canelo can't keep on defending his title against blown ups welters, or at least he shouldn't .

 

He was arrested in Santa Ana after a street fight, if I rember correctly. It was in the local papers, but it's been a while.
