Floyd's not coming back. Freddy, just looking at these two and their styles i feel El Perro is taylor made for Kirkland. If this fight comes off we can make a friendly wager like the old days.
What have you seen to make you believe Angulo has superior conditioning and output then Kirkland? Did you not see Kirkland jump out the gate at the start of the first and set a blistering pace? Kirkland's determination will not be matched by Angulo imo. And brining up julio punch stats are null and void b/c Kirkland just ran over him and dominated him. I'm not even sure Angulo would beat Julio after that Cosme fight.
Angulo is better technically but he's a pressure fighter and Kirkland has more speed and power...not good for Angulo
Kirkland is a power puncher with loose defense while Angulo is a pressure fighter with solid fundamentals. Against wild guys like Kirkland, the early rounds will always be the most dangerous but I think Angulo will take him out mid-late as Kirkland gasses from throwing haymakers and taking bodyshots from Angulo.
Except for the fact that the only reason he struggled making 147 is because he's too damn lazy to train hard enough to make the weight comfortably. This guy was soft even as a 147 pounder and for the very basic reason that there was too much talent at 147 for him he decided to move up to 154 where he's looked even thicker around the mid section than he did at welter, and has also looked much smaller than every opponent that he's been in there with since moving up. Not only that, the majority of his best opponents at jr. middlweight have been able to stand up to his power quite well which suggests that he's just not as powerful at that weight as he was at 147. You can throw all those little facts at me all you want, but all it takes is an educated eye to see that the guy doesn't belong at that weight.
I use to think that Angulo would take this too, but I am not that sure anymore. Somebody by mid round stoppage. I also think that looser becomes ruined.
Angulo just looks slow to me and a bit plodding. While I'm not totally sold on Kirkland I see him beating Angulo to the punch all night long.
dude, read that and tell me it doesn't make you laugh? now me and you both know that is NOT a fact. I'm not a *** and I'm not into flame wars. Julio is not a body builder he doesn't look cut up. His KO's went down b/c his comp level has gone up. He kayoed every fighter he fought in colombia. He is not doing that in America against world class fighters. Julio started his career at 147 at the age of 17. since he is 24 and his body has grown. If you look at his shoulders and back he is a broad kid.
