is very possible if Canelo gets by Mosely with no problems(via Ring magazine). How would that fight go? I see Kirkland getting knocked out.

    Wont happen.

If it did, Kirkland would need to be in beast mode for that fight, and literally anything can happen.

If it was steve smoger, and no 3 kd rule (lol) I could see Canelo rocking Kirkland early and dropping him a couple times good, but I just think that if Kirkland isnt stopped in the first 5 rounds, hes going to have that ass, and will stop Canelo in the next 5.

Alvarez would knock him out in the early to mid rounds. Kirkland might get some minimal early success, but getting Alvarez to engage will lead to the end for Kirkland. Call me crazy, Molina shook him a few times. Alvarez has proven to have a good chin, and Kirkland will certainly be wide open to hit. I think Alvarez might even be able to stop Kirkland in the first 3. Likewise, if Kirkland did win this, it too would probably be a stoppage within the first 3.

I do like this fight a lot, even after the Molina DQ. I actually think it happens. Kirkland is very vulnerable after the Molina fight and an apparent shoulder injury. Kirkland still will be a sizable win indeed and combined with Mosley would justify fighting just 2 times in the calendar year, compared to last years' 4 title fights. It's the sort of thing where, if I'm managing Alvarez, I do in a heartbeat because for the next two years I can face him off with the best ranked lighter punching boxers rather than punchers and point to the Kirkland win as Alvarez facing a lethal punching highly ranked badass. That, plus I'd be very confident.

I can either see Alvarez winning in the first or second round by devistating one punch knockout. But if Kirkland gets a foothold in this fight good night Ginger mexican cause Alvarez has no respect for punches and Kirkland has the most natural, multifaceted power I have ever seen. I mean have you ever seen another fighter that has crazy power in both hands, with every shot he throws (hooks, uppercuts, straight punches, everything) AND he carries his power late. That to me is very special and even though skills wise he has no business in the ring and you would think that he should get knocked out early. If he does this mother ****ing would be a good fight.

I definitely can see it happen. After his last fight I would definetely sell out Kirkland and feed him to a rising star before another C level level fighter plays the part of spoiler and takes the belt away.

This would be interesting. Canelo could potentially outbox Kirkland, seeing as that's pretty easy to do.

But knowing Cinnamon boy, he would rather show his strength and brawl, which could bring him the early ko, or get him into a ton of trouble if Kirkland can recover.

This might seem weird, but I actually can see this one going the 10 or even 12 round distance. :think

Ya I agree. I recognize Kirklands limitations but I also understand he has things few fighters ever hacve as well. I'd love to see this fight.

You mean Alvarez would box smart? I guess he could do that but I've never seen that to be his temperment.:huh

    Nah, even with both brawling.

I don't know that either will be able to keep the other down for a count.

Sure we've seen Kirkland dropped by weaker guys than Canelo and Canelo rocked by much lighter hitters than Kirkland.

Dropped and rocked are a far cry from knocked out. They're both the type to grit their teeth and battle back. I can see a lot of ebb and flow, a lot of dramatic moments, on a tumultuous rollercoaster ride to a controversial decision.

Please no. Kirkland should rematch Ishida first to avenge his only loss...

Kirkland isn't nearly ready for Canelo. Canelo KO's 7

Alvarez stops Kirkland in my opinion.
