Schaefer also said in that interview that Alvares is fighting sept 15th win or lose so that rules out a potential november fight with money.

I've said it million times over...

Kirkland-Cotto September .... they were also throwing in Ortiz name... but kirk cotto the most likely candidates ...

    Mayweather may 2013.

Yeah it seems like Kirkland would be the logical progression. Then maybe Cotto and Chavez Jr. after that.:bbb

Hell, even if Cotto loses to Money I'd pay to see Canelo-Cotto.

    Canelo wins,one way or another.
Only JK chances are a KO, but Canelo has superior skills and can bang.

He should've fought Kirkland anyways. I've always felt that Alvarez beats him though Kirkland gives him scares before succumbing to a mid rds ko by Cinnamon. Good fight and it should've happened instead of Kirkland-Molina. Alvarez would've been in his ass, pause.

I like this fight a lot, hope it comes off. I don't care for the Mosley fight but credit to Alvarez if he faced Kirkland. He could face old shot guys like Mosley, Mayorga, Margarito, etc until a fight with Mayweather comes along. If he faces an aggressive guy in his prime like Kirkland instead I'd be impressed.

This is an even type of fight but I'd lean towards Alvarez, I think his chin holds up better than Kirkland's. I'd prefer Kirkland-Williams while Alvarez faces Cotto in September than let the winners of those fight but this is a really good fight if it happens.

Kirkland is a good test at this stage IMO.

Kirkland is just not very good. Simple as that.

Alvarez is the better skilled fighter but he still has to be carefull not to get caught with a flush shot. As long as Alvarez boxes and puts his punches together, he can take it.
