    According to Steve Kim....

"- James Kirkland vs Sergui Dzin for the WBO 154 title is a done deal, basically, I'm told for June 27th at the Staples

    - Alfredo Angulo could be facing Kermit Cintron on May 30th, alongside Andre Berto on HBO

    - Vic Darchinyan might be facing IBF 118-pound belt-holder Joseph Agbeko on June 6th on Showtime

    - There are early discussions of Arthur Abraham-Vernon Forrest for the summer, on Showtime"

    ----------------

Apparently the June 27th card may end up being a triple-header with Ortiz vs. Kotelnik and Juarez vs. John II rounding out the card. Kirkland also has a fight May 2nd against Mike Walker on the Pacquiao-Hatton undercard.

Looks like a lot of interesting match ups this summer. 2009 is shaping up to be one hell of a year.

Kirkland fights Mike Walker in the co-feature to Pacquiao-Hatton. Bernabe Concepcion fights Steven Luevano. Matvey Korobov and Erislandy Lara will both fight in 4 rounders. Luevano-Concepcion is a good fight, but the rest of the undercard fights are mismatches. Originally Golden Boy and Top Rank planned to put Mike Alvarado vs. Lucas Matthysse on the card, which would have been a great fight, but for whatever reason, it will take place elsewhere. **** undercard indeed...

This was posted on the MB message board. But Kim also mentions it at the very end of his latest article. I would post the direct link, but the moderators here are bitches when it comes to posting links to other web sites.

I don't think this is a wise move for Kirkland. He's not ready for Dzinziruk.

    Angulo KO Cintron.
    Darchinyan KO Agbeko.
    Arthur UD Forrest

It's a seemingly peculiar choice by Team Kirkland and his handlers at HBO, no question about that. Not so much just for the risk, but in terms of the reward. The American audience isn't exactly intimately familiar with S
