This was a back and forth slugfest to the max. Kirkland probably beat that kid up to good at the end.

It was the beatdown of the year.

Only the first one or two rounds were competitive, after that it was one way traffic.
James Kirkland a bad dude, underrated aswell.. I hope we get to see Kirkland-Canelo in 2014, I think James would shock a lot of people and expose Canelos weaknesses.

Agreed...but that tapia kid was game. Kirkland when he is warm up would be a difficult agaist any fighter he fights!

I prefer Bradley-Provodnikov as FOTY, that was a highly competitive, high drama fight!

Hmm a close second Imo. Because from round 3-9 when Bradley box he controlled the fight. This fight was a in your face ...eye to eye affair.

No the fight wasnt competitive enough for me

after the first 2 minutes and briefly in round 3 or 4 Tapia was completely overwhelmed

not much of a fight but more of a mugging

Fight of the year?? Seriously, wtf?

After first two rounds it was just a onesided beatdown and to be honest I didn't enjoy it all. Fight should have been stopped atleast 2 rounds earlier  Tapia had nothing left after three rounds. That crazy amount of punishment Tapia was taking became horrible to watch.

As other have said, it was too much of a beatdown to be the FOTY.
