Julio by KO.. around round 7 or 8. Kirkland has very crude overall skills and Julio's more refined arsenal should be enough to get him the win here.
I am going with Julio. I think that he has overall more experience with better opposition. He may or may not have problems with lefties but the two lefties that he lost to are current and former world title holders and Kirkland has not even faced anyone of the caliber of opponent that Julio has lost to. I think that Kirkland has defensive liabilities and he may be in trouble against Julio. Whether it's a KO or UD I'm not sure but I predict Julio to win.
i don't think julio's been hit by a hard a puncher as kirkland. will go out on a limb and say kirkland catches him in under four rounds
Im picking Julio by SD. Julio has been in there with better fighters and i think it will show in this fight. Although he has lost a couple times, he's in with a more aggressive lefty and not slick boxers and i doubt Kirkland will attempt to box whereas Julio better box or else he will get KTFO
Only a couple of days to the fight, and it looks the poll now has this fight as a tossup. A good performance by Kirkland should put him in line for a title shot. I would really like to see him fight the winner of Latimore/Spinks for the IBF title.
Does Julio want to slug it out with Kirkland? He barely survived against Rivera. Kirkland has only been down once. That was to a guy that was knocking people out in 2 or 3 leading up to the Kirkland fight. He got right back up from that KD and stopped the guy the same round.
Julio has only been down once(late in the fight). If Allen Conyers can drop Kirkland HARD(kirkland was on ***** street) what is gonna happen if Julio connect hard??? Julio has a better D then Kirkland and can box better then Kirkland he is also faster. What's gonna happen when Kirkland comes charging in like he does all his opponents and instead of an Allen Conyers right hand he gets hit with a Julio right hand. And Julio isn't a a glass chin bum like Conyers thats gonna fall on the slightest tap on the chin to bail Kirkland out.
Kirkland has only been down once as well. Kirkland was not on ***** street. He got back up in like 2 seconds and went right back on the attack. He even stopped Conyers that round. Now Julio was definately hurt against Rivera and Conyers is a bigger puncher than Rivera Kirkland will hit him back, that's the way he fights. No he does not actually. Julio does not have much in the way of defense. Kirkland has his own defensive issues. However, he has better head movement than Julio and does a better job of blocking/slipping punches when he actually does go on the defensive. I believe Kirland has the faster hands. I'm not too sure Julio is a better boxer either. Julio may not have a glass jaw, but it's not iron either. I don't think Julio will be able to stand up the pressure, and I believe he will eventually fold. I expect Kirlkland to win, and when he does he definately should be given more credit that he receives on this forum.
I'm not even gonna bother to reply fully because you seem to have a VERY VERY distorted view on this subject. You got this kid out to be the modern day 154 pound Mike Tyson and his biggest win is over Brian ****ing Vera. We'll let the fight tell the tale.
When did I ever describe Kirkland as a modern day Tyson? And please tell me who Julio's best win is against? I'm sorry if you believe that I'm overrating Kirkland by saying he's going to beat Julio even though Kirkland is something like a 3/1 favorite in this fight. Also, Albert, Duran, and Said were all better wins than the Vera win.
