HBO is trying to bring back Angulo, Kirkland, and Gamboa on the same card again for October 4.

The matchups they are working on are...

    Alfred Angulo (13-0 10tkos) vs. Andrey Tsurkan (26-3 17kos)

    James Kirkland (22-0 19kos) vs. Deandre Latimore (19-1 16kos)

Gamboa might fight Jorge Barrios if he stays at 130, or someone else if he moves down to 126.

They seem like goot matchups to me. Latimore just beat Sechew Powell by tko last week. He has been knocked out, so Kirkland can take him out early if he stuns him, but he is a good boxer. If he can get by the first 3 rounds, he might pull off another upset.

Angulo is being pushed pretty fast for someone with only 13 fights. He already beat a solid fighter in Richard Gutierrez, and Tsurkan is another tough test. Tsurkan is coming off a win against Jesse Feliciano. Tsurkan wooped his ass something serious and looked better than Cintron did against him.

Overall, it looks like another good B.A.D. card.
    Thoughts, predictions?

I would definitely favor the unbeaten, but these would both be WARS. :fire

Angulo-Tsurkan has the potential for fireworks, but I actually think they guys they faced in their last fights were tougher than the opponents proposed here.

Angulo wins by close decision or late TKO. Tsurkan will outwork him early, but Angulo will throw the more effective punches, and his body work will slow down Tsurkan eventually.

Kirkland by another early knockout. They need to match him up with someone with a better chin. Heck, I always considered Albert to have a very good chin until last fight. Kirkland needs to get rounds in though. He looks befuddled when he dishes out the best he got but his opponent keeps coming.

There aren't too many guys who don't hold titles who I would favor at 126 or 130 over Gamboa. Unless the fight is against Marquez, Soto, Juarez, or Salido, Gamboa wins.

Is it just me or is Angulo getting the tougher fights than Kirkland?

Which set of opponents is tougher.... A) Albert & Latimore or B) Gutierrez & Tsurkan.... and Angulo is the one with 13 fights.
