    :patsch The ****?

Tito hits so much harder than Kirkland its not even funny. Good god the **** I hear on here sometimes...:-(

Mayorga mops the floor with Kirkland while calling him a ****** the whole time.

Then smokes a cig in his face in the post fight.

Vernon was hindered by a well documented shoulder injury by the time he moved up to 154. James is a banger...just not a extraordinary powerful banger like Tito was. James is well beneath Trinidad in terms of power and just below Vernon who simply had superior technique than James.

James has got good power....power that makes him dangerous because he's a good finisher... but he's not a "one hitta quitta" type of dude. He's more like a Cotto.... he is punishing and unrelenting.... but nothing that puts grown men to sleep.

Vargas ate FAR LESS in his fight with Tinidad than Angulo did last saturday against James.....Both men have great beards. The difference is TITO's is a better puncher who had FAR better competition in Vargas that what James had in Angulo.

Ried would have mopped the floor with James kid... Sorry. You really want to compare Tito's power to James? Tito's career is comprised of a laundry list of one punch KO's. James has maybe 4... which were all at the infancy of his career.

One of the greatest fights we were all deprived of was that Mayorga unifying those titles with WBO champ Margarito. Man that would've been a war. I blame Arum on that one, back in those days he did a horrible job promoting Toney.

Mayorga would have landed some punch on the chin of Kirkland and stopped him.

Mayorga by savage and embarrassing KO. Kirkland has no Chin. None.

Kirkland is a beast, but the Mayorga that beat Forrest was on another level until Kirkland proves otherwise.

Mayorga wins by UD.... He knocks Kirkland down a bunch in the first 4 rounds, then Kirkland starts to get his gears going and it becomes one of the most badass fights known to man, but the damage was done and Kirkland is in too big a whole to dig himself out of (hes not going to stop a prime mayorga)

    Mayorga UD or early TKO

    Badass fight.

Rico, this talk is irrelevant after the Angulo fight. Something was off for the Ishida fight.

We are talking about 154 fighters, Vernon being hindered by the shoulder at 154 should only confirm my point that he wasn't a bigger puncher than Kirkland at 154.

I disagree with you regarding Tito at 154 and James, James has shown me that he is just as good a banger at 154 than Tito if not more so. He has shown me he has more power in a punch than Tito, but that isn't to say Tito is a weak puncher, just that I think Kirkland is a heavy/heavy puncher.

I disagree with you. I think James has 1 hit quit power.

I didn't ask you if Vargas ate as many as Angulo, I asked you if you think Vargas would have made it 12 if it was James landing those same shots. Same with Reid. To me, the answer is simple, they woudln't.

To be fair I think you've convinced me. That said I think the problem with the argument is that Kirkland never face the standard of fighters Tito did and with your argument about the Kirkland landing on Vargas for 12 rounds ain't really relevant because Kirkland woulda ate **** by about round 4

Naturally James is not a bigger puncher than either Forrest or Tito. Based on what are you emphatically saying James is a bigger puncher than Tito? His biggest win to date is Angulo....before that it was Julio. Neither are great fighters.. Julio had a shaky beard going into his fight yet took some of James best shots... Angulo ate ALL of then some.

We can agree to disagree....but you don't have many (if any) that will agree.... especially with the Tito comparison.

I don't think James would make it 5 with Vargas at 154. I absolutely believe Vargas could take some of James best shots and still be in position to put James to sleep.

Kirkland is so ridiculously overrated on here it's a joke. The guy was blown out in 1 ****ing round by Ishida but just beat Angulo so everything is straight? **** outta here. Mayorga would **** Kirkland's whole team and family.

I disagree, I think naturally James is the bigger puncher seeing that he is physically bigger than the two.

I base the punching off the eye test, I believe Angulo has a great chin, seeing him take flush shots from Cintron and Julio and keep on coming with no problem, I saw Kirkland hurt him to such an extent in their first round that he was never in the fight again, then the way he brutally beat him up for 5 rounds after that sealed the deed for me. That plus looking at what he did to the equally stone chinned Vera.

Tito KO'd Mayorga, I agree, Shane, Cotto, and Oscar did as well, perosnally I believe Kirkland could do the same, but it is hard to compare power between people who fought in different "classes/eras"

I don't believe Vargas would survive taking flush shots from Kirkland, I believe he would be in the exact same state as Angulo was, which is out on his feet.

Kirkland would lose badly to Vargas and to David Reid for that matter. Angulo could NEVER take the amount of punches from either Tito or Mayo that he took from Kirkland.

I think Vargas because of boxing ability would be tough for Kirkland, same with Reid, I also think that if he landed the fight could defintiely be over for both, that is the difference in power between what I feel Kirkland has and tito had. Not slighting anyone or saying Kirkland is a great boxer.
