Kirkland vs Williams...

It would be a ****ing war. I would tip Williams to win it though based on level of opposition alone.

 

Pfffft, Kirkland's face-first style would have been utterly exposed by Williams's volume punching style. Williams by wiiiiide UD.

 

Williams should win this one, but lets not forget he had a better resume than Martinez and many think Martinez won. I think the difference between the Quintana loss and the Martinez fight for Williams gotta be Williams was at his best 100% for Martinez. Kirkland looks like a strong 154 and he only got test by a fading Julio, who used to be a powerful puncher. I still don't think Kirkland has been tested yet. He needs to fight a Cintron or an Angulo to see how his chin might do against Williams. It would be a fun fight tho. Williams by UD.

 

Williams isn't that hard to hit either, which is why this would make for an exciting battle for as long as it lasted.

I haven't seen that much of Kirkland, but let's be real here. Paul doesn't "man up on dem punches". His corner's words. He throws a ton of arm punches.

Agreed. Particularly by southpaws it seems.

 

Kirkland is an animal. One of the most vicious fighters in the sport and it seemed like he had a true warrior mentality to boot. I had high hopes for him before the incident last year. I'd tip him over PW.
