I think you can win a fight 7-5 to the degree where it's clear the right man won.

It isn't an actual cop out. It's just how I see it.

Just because I don't agree doesn't make it wrong lol.

No...I understand the point. It's just that this attitude strikes me as being somewhat arbitrary. The 10-10 round is still a valid scoring option for a reason.

It is valid, I just don't agree with it.

When I watch a round I will always pick a winner because imo it's a cop out calling it an even round, especially when they're so few and far between in the modern era.

To be totally honest, I like the idea of even rounds, and think they better represent the sport of boxing, but I don't think they have a place the way they are. In an ideal world for me a run would be 10-10 default unless there was a clear winner, any close round or "just edged" would be an even round. I think then more results would represent the fights we saw.

But because the vast majority of rounds have a winner, I will always find a winner. Always.

Not sure if that comes across clearly or not.

It does. And usually, a winner can be found in a round. But there are instances where fighters land an equal number of effective shots and implement their respective game plan for an equal amount of time-or where it becomes entirely subjective as to how much control a fighter really had. In those instances, a 10-10 round is entirely appropriate.

As an aside, I think the Argentine scoring system that allows for close rounds to be called 10-9.5 has a lot of merit if you subscribe to the theory that you shouldn't score even rounds at all.

My issue with ten point must is someone dominating 5 rounds, someone edging 7 close rounds and the latter person winning.

If even rounds were more prevalent the former would win.

It's not that I'm against even rounds per se. It's just in the modern climate I don't see them having much use.

    Each to their own though.

I believe the current system with dominated rounds getting the same score as razor thin rounds, makes it too easy for judges to score it for the guy they want to score it for, because that's the whole reality here.
So razor close rounds scored even or the Argentinian way, is a small solution against malicious scoring.

Come on Pinoy, don't you want more hard to call matches, how else are you going to reclaim the top spot?

    Jeff Horn vs. Rico Mueller

    Matty Askin vs. Tommy McCarthy
    Cristian Mijares vs. Shohei Kawashima

All of these are tough to predict.:deal:

Like this if you vouch for these.
