No, thought Ovechkin had the best chance, but he rightfully decided to be a team player (concentrating moreso on defense than Wayne ever did)

Also, back in Wayne's heyday, it wasn't uncommon for a team to score 5 goals a game, now-a-days 5 goals in a game is an offensive explosion...!!!

People are gonna think Ima weird, but Ovechkin. Look what Wayne did when he was away from Kurri, Coffey, Anderson, Messier, Lowe, Huddy, etc (The high flying Oilers).

In LA, he had Nicholls (til he was traded for Sandstrom & Granato, Robitaille: Robitaille is the greatest LW in NHL history, but even he couldn't help Gretzky).


Ovechkin does it, pretty much on his own, Capitals always seem to trade good players for nobodies...!!!
