    As a big Cotto fan i actually don't want this fight, nobody will give Cotto much credit if he wins as of now, i think Chavez needs to step up gradually.... what is there to gain really for Cotto in fighting Chavez? I hate talking like that as i hate the political side of the sport and always am against the 'whats to gain' mentality but really, in this case its 100%. Out of all the fights out there for Cotto against top fighters at 147 and 154, i just don't see what a fight with Chavez brings him besides some cash, and if he loses to Chavez then forget about it, it will be the worst loss of his career. It just doesnt make sense to me why Cotto would take this fight. Its a lose lose for him, if he wins, so what.... he beat a 'kid', and one who's still not even viewed in high regard in the boxing world and who hasn't really even done anything yet (though if he keeps fighting like he did against duddy that will change soon)

    If i was Cottos people id tell Chavez to keep winning and they can discuss the fight down the road.

    If i was Chavez's people, id keep on doing what their doing, keep stepping up the comp and if they could try to maybe get sturm, cintron, or someone like that..... i think they are winnable fights in all honesty (never thought id say that) and would elevate his status enormously.

    Just IMO

    but damn, a Cotto-Chavez fight would be FIREWORKS thats for sure and i can see why everyone would want to see it :lol::bbb

    You're exactly right Bolieu :deal This month will do some serious jumbling i think. Its a more challenging month IMO, not as many freebies

    Now that you mention it, Chavez/Sturm would be pretty sweet too. A good chance for Chavez to step up further and show he's world class, AND a good fight for Sturm to show he still has the goods.:bbb

    If Cotto is gonna beat Chavez, now is the time. Chavez still has a lot of flaws that are gradually being ironed out. He put his punches together well in the last fight and his youth and size might present a challenge to Cotto, plus it'd be great to watch. Wait much more time and Cotto will be too old.

    Fair question Pimp,

    Basically because even though its extremely extremely close, while you have 3 more wins then Freddy, on the flipside you have 4 more losses..... so head to head you come away 0-1 right now.

    If you had just one less loss, so you would have 3 more wins and 3 more losses, you two would be tied in terms of picking, but youd win based off of having more fights.

    Not sure if that makes sense but its how ive done it the whole competition, barring any mistakes ive made which i catch constantly.

    Hope that helps clear it up.... rankings are basically had by comparing wins and losses, if someone had more wins, while having less losses, or vice versa, regardless of fight count, will form the variances within the rankings, ties go to the more experienced poster, and if two people are completely tied in experience and win/loss, then whoever has more KO's is ranked higher.

    David is above Freddy because hes got 4 more wins, 4 more losses head to head, making them tied, but he gets it due to his experience (more fights), Freddy is ahead of fighter head to head 4-5.... Fighter has 4 more wins then Freddy, but hes got 5 more losses, making him 0-1 against him.
    Fighter and you are 1-1 against eachother, with him having one more win, and one more loss, but hes got the experience so he gets ranked higher
    You and keith, you have 5 more wins, and 5 more losses as well, but its a tie 5-5, hence you get rated higher for your experience.

    hope it makes a little sense...

    You guys up top in the rankings (top 10 or 12) are so damn close in ranking that one fight difference head to head makes a difference of like 3 spots.... little differences are pretty much magnified at that level, as of right now, even though a guy could be 3 ranks down from another, they are actually only seperated by one or two.
