Darchinyan won a UD Alexander stopped Urango in the 8th EDIT: Guerrero is one tough SOB. Devon is the goods...I thought he was being worn down for a second like I was thinking would happen, but then it was just BAM! Lights out!...Then goes on to say that he didn't hit hard. ****in' hell...
I honestly thought he was going to pull an Ortiz on us. Fight stupid and get stopped. Then I saw he wasn't going to clinch and thought...aaawww ****...he's going to get Bailey'd. As the fight wore on, Urango kept landing more and more hooks and then here comes the 8th and BOOM!...that awesome uppercut came and I was just baffled. Almost confused. :huh But Devon is a good fighter. He's still got a lot of room for improvement, but definitely more talented than I gave him credit for. Definitely a fighter worth keeping an eye on. I'd like to see him tighten up that defense. He could've dominated that fight a lot better than that. Seems like pressure is the key to beating him. I think Maidana might give him some fits and expose some more flaws. He's also a sucker for a fight...might be detrimental if he ever faces someone with an fiery will.
Surprising, yet not surprising results. Darchinyan winning isn't surprising, but not getting the KO is. Alexander winning isn't surprising, but knocking out Urango is VERY SHOCKING!
Actually i think Alexander would have an easy time with Maidana. IMO Maidana is highly overrated and can easily be outboxed. If you rewatch his fight with Kotelnik, you can see Kotelnik had alot of success by boxing. (Having said that, I did have Maidana winning that fight)
That's the thing though. He's awkward and easy to hit and I actually find that to be a trap for a slickster like Devon. Devon likes to be a flashy KO artist in a sense. He doesn't clinch. He isn't afraid to trade. He runs a bit, but not to an excess. That might spell disaster for a showster like him in Maidana. A VERY crude brawler in Urango was able to land quite a few flush right hooks at a slow speed, but Maidana presents awkward movements and angles, has great power, decent speed and tons of heart...he also has a pretty good workrate. I think he'd give Devon fits...not because of his skill, but LACK of skill in which he suckers Devon into a brawl. You can tell he wants to truly SHINE against his opposition and that can be dangerous against someone like Maidana. I thought it was dangerous tonight, but he passed with flying colors, but I'm not completely sold on him just yet. But he's certainly got a shitload of talent. I think he smokes Khan and beats Bradley.
damnit damnit damnit... my freaking TKO takes a big hit this weekend, i didnt get one ko :-( The thing is the other day i was literally sitting down to change my pick to alex by TKO because i figured that with how crisp alex throws some of his shots, that the ref or corner might stop it in the 9th-11th rounds.... i just figured Urango got hit too much for this fight. But said nah, ill stick with the safe pick of UD. THEN when i was actually watching the fight i was suprised at how good urango looked actually, and i actually started thinking i picked the wrong guy to win the fight actually.... then the bomb landed. Damn.... i actually feel sorry for Urango, i like him and i would have liked to see him finish on his feet. I actually thought Urango was looking decent though for Urango and i hope he can come back and get a win, kinda felt bad for him tonight. anyways... updates will come tomorrow (well technically later today as its 3AM here) :good
Dear Lord! Guerrero took one helluve beating. Darchinyan landed the same full power uppercut that scored the KO for Alexander, and Guerrero took it like a man. He deserves a lot of credit! Alexander too, wow, what a finish!
i just realized that. atsch so much for KO's this week... i think nearly everyone had alexander by UD and darch by KO. i can't wait to see alexander knock out urango. i missed it last night. i'm still kind of shocked that he KO'd him.
He didn't just ko him either. He lifted both of Urango's feet off the ground with the uppercut he landed. It was an awesome punch out of nowhere. Keith

Ya, that kid took some hellacious shots. I felt bad for him by the end. His corner probably should have saved him from having to take that sort of a sustained beating for so long.
- CONGRATS FREDDY and MIKE - The #1 Contender and FREDDY were the only ones to pick Alex to win by stoppage :good Very nice call
