How's the lil Butt?

 

Teething like mad but otherwise fine.

What seemed like a dislocated shoulder (Mrs. Butt snatched him by the arm to keep him away from some cords we hadn't yet tied up before his recent explosion of new movements: toddling, climbing, ninja backflips etc - and said it twisted at some bad angle...later he wouldn't put any weight on it, cried when it was touched, and there was even a bony little dime-sized knob sticking out on top that wasn't on the other side...) may have just been a strange muscle pull or something called a stretched ACR joint which is apparently lower concern. I guess for kids that young it's next to impossible to actually dislocate the shoulder like adults do. Nursemaid's elbow is common enough, but dislocated shoulders extremely rare. With how flexible their joints and ligaments are while still growing, there is a bone plate that would shatter long before enough force could be applied to dislocate - and the shattered plate would be very severe and certainly wouldn't have cleared up on its own within a few hours so we can rule that out. :conf The doc couldn't explain the little bump we both felt & saw, as it apparently wouldn't be a symptom of either a muscle pull or a stretched ACR. :?

 

Odd. Had a similar situation with one of mine a year ago or so. Cleared up on its own in a few agonizing(for me) minutes. Kids are resilient. Glad to hear all is well.
