The sad thing is that only a very small percentage actually does it (move their legs again). Mihai Nesu, Romanian soccer player has that kind of injury, paralyzed neck down, has the same type of statements and mentality. He's only got his senses in his right hand. Took him quite some months if not 1 year. I believe that kind of thinking comes from their big desire to do it again. But in 3-4 years they'll find out it's hard to ever walk again even with crutches or anything similar. I remember Nesu saying that he wants at least to be able to bath himself again.
