So much to say.... that really I will wind up not saying much at all

Garcia vs Matthysse

I never thought this would be an easy fight for Lucas, and honestly I was haunted with the thought of Danny landing that left hook, despite Lucas's chin. But I did figure that through the course of the fight, Lucas would be too much for any 140lb fighter that didn't have good defense and got hit with the punches Danny gets hit with. But damn, what a win for Garcia. His power kept Lucas domesticated in many of the rounds, and his chin and size kept him right there when Lucas did unleash. He kept poise, showing his mental toughness, and he also showed that while he is indeed stationary, he can use the ring well enough to not become Lucas's punching bag, despite Matthysse having moments of success.

Their chins. Wow! What a display of punch resistance this was. From Danny getting hit flush on the chin with power bombs that sends his mouthpiece flying, to Lucas taking flush left hooks that he cant see because of a swollen eye. Just amazing stuff.

And the finish, was fitting of this matchup.... with Garcia not letting Matthysse gain any momentum, even in the closing seconds, and Matthysse showing that he may be defeated, but not vanquished, as he fought tooth and nail to the final seconds.

In the end, this is one of the rare fights where I was truly rooting for a fighter, and that was Lucas. Im bummed that he lost, but have to give respect where its due.

I will say Danny needs to work on his defense. Taking as many punches as he does is a recipe for future failure. Like I said in another thread, boxing is a marathon, not a sprint, and receiving those kind of punches almost ensures that at some point, sooner rather then later, that iron chin will get cracked and start to deteriorate.

Anyways, good fight, and awesome win for Garcia.

Im glad people are holding that judge accountable.... there needs to be some sort of action taken though. Every single time this happens these judges get to fade into obscurity. I hope the public makes this stick to her and she drowns in it.

This would have been a huuuuuuuge black eye for boxing (its sad that theres so much corruption in boxing that that's a common phrase.) had Floyd gotten so blatantly robbed in front of the world.
