**** Kirks Championships 2013 ****

damn, what a fight.

I was regretting my Alvarado pick almost the entire day.... but meh, I wont pollute the fight with petty feelings of 'who I should have picked'.

The fight had me on the edge of my seat, both these warriors showing blood n guts. Alvarado is one tough dude. But Ruslan was simply too much for him. Its one of those fights where it sucks one of them have to lose. But I was happy for Ruslan. Heres to hoping he has many good fights left in him. What a warrior.

Where do they go from here?

Ruslan vs (Bradley 2, Rios, Pac, Marquez) all awesome fights

Alvarado vs (Rios 3, Marquez)

Im using top rank guys as we know GBP fighters are out of the question.



Anyways, what a night. Hope everyone enjoyed the fights.

I wont lie, I actually thought of our match during the fight I was like damnit! There goes my reign :-(

I really am disappointed that I didn't go with Ruslan. It cost me the peoples title and also Im sure Rummy has taken the number 1 spot for the year again.

I have never been high on Alvarado as a fighter (outside of his mentality). And my gut was telling me to go with Ruslan, but I just felt that Mike being with Top Rank and fighting in Denver would be too much for Ruslan to overcome if it went to the cards, when in reality Ruslan took it out of the judges hands.

Of course im bummed that this has set me back to number 2, and my reign as peoples champ is over, but the bigger picture is tonight was an awesome fight, im happy for ruslan, and Alvarado can also hold his head high, dude was tough tonight.

I did think Alvarado would be able to box better, but Ruslan closed that gap so fast and Mike just doesn't have the ability to keep it up. He had his moments though, but at the end of the day Ruslans power and pressure was too much.

Another chapter in boxings great book though tonight.

Im super happy for Ruslan. I like him as a fighter and as a person hes seemingly all class. I actually think he should have won the first fight he lost, and of course the Bradley fight was close, but it seems hes been better then ever these last two fights so its nice hes broken through and is now one of the major names in the sport right now. (not star status but in terms of being one of the guys you cant overlook when discussing the division right now)

Who would you like to see him fight next Robney?
