Pretty good night of fights!


The Perez vs Mago fight was surprisingly (or not so surprisingly) good. Perez surprised me a bit by coming out and meeting Mago in the middle of the ring, he showed quite the beard taking those shots... was impressed with the fight and hope to see more of both guys.

 

The Golovkin vs Stevens fight, cant say it was a great fight because it was largely a beatdown, but in real time it had a lot of drama and intensity due to the power of both guys. The knockdown was pretty sick, and G gets to move on to better things.

Are pretty much the only fights I want to see him in next.


I am not sold that Golovkin is as unbeatable as many claim. This is boxing, and in reality nobody is unbeatable. There will come a fighter that he wont be able to overpower, one that has a good chin, and good power, that will put G on the backfoot, and when you take away a punchers strength like that, most often they start to look ordinary. This also happens a lot when they move up in weight too.

So we will see. Will be very interesting to see if he can beat guys that he cant overpower. Or super skilled and talented guys.

But none of that matters to me. Hes a very good, exciting middleweight, who I hope to see in as many big fights at the weight as we can get.

Where he winds up ranking in history, and just how good he really is, is just part of the excitement.
