What's your impression? Ultimately someone or the other is getting screwed. Mendez losing his title on a foul sucks - but then again, if they somehow manage to squirm clear of a rematch then Barthelemy has every right to be hopping mad as he was 98% certain to have become champion fair and square anyway.

Ya its a tough situation. I mean, a fighter has to be aware of the time and get ready to break action so that this very thing doesn't happen, but on the other hand, I didn't see any ill will (like say the Kirkland vs Tapia situation, where James blatantly throws that last shot knowing smoger is separating them) Im fairly cold blooded when it comes to boxing, and in this situation I hate seeing a guy who was the better fighter that night and was assumingly going on to a meaningful victory get 'robbed' of it because he was throwing a combo when the bell rung. He was throwing a 5 punch combo, and had thrown 2 punches right before the bell rings, then throws 3, 4, with the 5th one landing at the final bell (seems there were two bells to sound the end of the round) he doesn't throw a punch after the final bell really. All that within a second or two. Idk it just seems harsh to take an almost sure W from a guy for what happens when you are in that mindset and the action is happening fast like that, with no apparent ill will. I could understand fining him and having them give up part of their purse to the opponent, and then ordering an immediate rematch. But to forever take that W from him, idk.... to me personally I don't agree with it but I can see where someone is coming from if they felt the NC/ND was justified. But who knows, maybe the fighter would rather them take the W than getting fined, those guys don't make all that much and are the real fighters out there who rely on paying their bills with these fights. At the end of the day I just hope theres a rematch.
