Exactly. That's why I need to watch more of Berchelt's fights and get a better gauge on his activity and power, if he really is the colossal puncher that his record might indicate. If he's a pressure high volume power puncher, then at 32 after the wars Vargas has had recently....Well I just don't know, Vargas possibly being shopworn is just as big a concern. All fighters, even the iron chinned ones eventually take one shot to many when they go to war like Vargas does. Hell HOF'er Aaron Pryor had one of the great iron chins, but after numerous wars with big punchers (and in his case a 2 1/2 year retirement) came back at 32 years old and got KTFO for his only career loss. My point being, I need to look more into this fight, but there is a real possibility I switch to Berchelt by Saturday.
I'm definitely sticking with Vargas, I can see him stopping Berchelt late, the guys Berchelt is stopping are the type of guys Salido, Vargas and Muira will stop early too. I've watched to Berchelt fight and his power seems above average but nothing special, Guy Robb who Berchelt stopped had really poor defence and Berchelt was lighting him up yet it took him about 5 rounds to get rid of him even though he was landing clean with nothing big coming back in the other direction. That's my rationale for picking Vargas, I think it might be a war and if it is then Vargas has handled the style of one of the best infighter in Salido and if it's outside battle then it might be a 50/50 in which case I'll go for the guy whose been 12 rounds before which is Vargas.

That was Miguel Marriaga that stopped Guy Robb, not Berchelt. Are you sure you got the right Miguel? Berchelt just stopped Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo in 4, who went 12 rounds with Lomachenko.
Not guy robb sorry my memory betrayed me I know Berchelt fought a European guy it must be George Jupp, Berchelt boxed well but that fight showed me hasn't got crazy power just good power.
His power is deceptive and impressive, the only reason he doesn't have a lot of 1st round KO's is because he's methodical and breaks his opponent down, and even when he patiently takes the Lomachenko route, he still manages to stop most of his opponents in 3 or 5. As far as Jupp goes, that's not a great example since Jupp had never been down or stopped previously, so who knows how good his chin is, however Piriyapinyo had never been stopped in 61 previous matches. For a power comparison Salido stopped Weng Haya in 8, although Haya dropped Salido hard in round 3 and almost stopped Siri. Berchelt obliterated Haya in 2, his power is legit. https://www.metatube.com/en/videos/106073/Orlando-Siri-Salido-vs-Weng-Haya-Round-3-Box/ This content is protected
Jupp was getting hit clean with big shots, he was always likely to be the first man to stop him because he was also the first world level puncher Jupp had faced. I do admit he has above average power but it doesn't look like devastating power from I what I saw. Berchelt looks more like an outside puncher I see Vargas getting inside and winning the fight in there. You made some good points but because Vargas is more proven and his experience in wars has shown me he has something Berchelt hasn't had to display yet I have to edge to Vargas.
Berchelt is versatile, he can box off the back foot well like he did with Piriyapinyo and applying pressure like with Jupp, the guy is a 3 time Mexican amateur champion his skill level is deceptive, another power comparison, Berchelt KO'd Oliver Flores in 2 a few years before Uchiyama KO'd him in 3. I'll do a write up about why I think he'll beat Vargas later, but right now I'm dealing with this gay ass Likegate.
I just rewatched Vargas/Miura, man Vargas has took 2 brutal beatings within 7 months and he gets cut easily. And I really like what I see from Berchelt, he seems to have all the tools in the box without being exceptional at anything, a cut stoppage in his favour wouldn't be a shock at all. I'm really going back and forth over this pick. Will make final decision after watching some more footages from Berchelt.
