I know in his heart of hearts that he knows he was fortunate to get that victory, you can tell without him saying it. I rewatched yesterday after the interview and had it a draw again so the result wasnt bad to me but you have to see it from his point of view. A load of people were saying he was gunna duck this fight and pull out, then he went through with it. Until the Chilemba fight most people were picking Kovalev to stop Ward, he managed to get the victory in a close match which he was dropped in but hardly anyone gave him credit for going up in weight to fight the baddest man in the LHW a real champion in a sport littered with belt holders, hardly anyone gave him credit for getting off the canvas against one of the p4p strongest punchers and dominating the second half of a fight he was losing in. He would you feel if you were ward and the majority of people from a country who you represented in the Olympic and brought back a gold medal for are rooting for you too lose and then bash you after the fight and give you no credit for anything?

Do you honestly call that a robbery? I can see exactly what you mean about all that should matter is the right person should win but semantics tell you a lot about peoples opinion of a fight, so an unfair decision and a robbery although they have the same result (the wrong person won) one insinuates you are so sure of your scoring that you do not see how anyone could even fathom a different points total whereas the other suggests you had it one way which you think was right and although you don't agree sometimes people have seen things differently.

I do agree with your side note, I hate that cliche that commentators use "it's what you like" judges should be scoring under the four criterias and there scorecards although there be differ in scorecards it shouldnt be drastically different if the were using the criterias but less face it some judges are clearly inept, others are corrupt which leads to skewed scorecards. Nothing can be done about but sometimes the controversy helps because it introduces rematches, debates, garners public interest etc so you take the rough with the smooth. However when I see a fighter work hard and incapable judges take that away for one reason or another too so when it is a clear robbery I do get enraged by it too but its mainly for the fighter not because of an agenda or my bias.

Not to mention mundine has probably infuriated some Aussies by saying there national anthem is racist so if he does outbox Green the politics may not allow for him to win too.

 

Lol Mundine has actually said a lot worse. Like defending the 9/11 attacks.....

**** it.. Never going to truly make up my mind on this one. Karls the bigger puncher and both have nothing in the way of defense so it will likely come down to who's got the better chin and power.. Ramirez with a skill advantage though, so hopefully for the sake of us who picked Karl it's a shoot out.
