Yeah I noticed it, but I didn't comment because its no big deal to me since I have El Rey on my cable and have got it since it debuted.
You're the first person I heard of even on the Internet that actually has El Rey the channel on there TV.
I live in Florida, so anything the cable providers think might vaguely appeal to Latinos they add to our package, Robert Rodriguez the director started the channel and a lot of the programming is geared towards Mexicans so it was an automatic shoe on for the channel lineup. All that is awesome for me, because I benefit from all of the Latino Boxing shows I have access to.
That's a damn good interview from Haye, and sadly I actually really want to see a rematch. Although the Eubank-Benn comment was completely ******ed.
Illinois is a heavily populated Hispanic state as well, but we only get I think it's called Univision. No Telemundo, Azteca, bein Sport, UniMas etc...
I'm assuming Davis vs Walsh will be on Showtime, but the tweets from Matchroom say the fight will be May 20th, Showtime is already airing Brook vs Spence a week later. I wonder why they didn't consolidate this card to make it 2 promising young American fighters trying to win big on foreign soil on the same night. Will Showtime air B2B weeks fights that are taking place overseas?
Here's the difference, Illinois is heavily populated by Hispanics, Florida is actually Latin American at this point. Which is fine by me.
A little money has come in on Culcay, odds have tightened a bit. I imagine the odds will draw closer together as fight time near as usual. I'm still thinking there's a potential stoppage on the plate here, for Andrade. People can cite the Vanes fight, but it was a hard fight, against a dangerous fighter whom I personally rate. I think of Vanes as being a pretty solid operator. He has a few outstanding attributes that make him dangerous. He's got a damn fine chin for one (check out him dropping his hands and eating clean, hard shots from Lara in their second match. Also against fairly heavy handed Willie Nelson. Yes, I know Ouma hurt him.) and underrated power. Was surprised at him nearly dropping the very durable Ishe Smith hard twice recently. He struggles against fleet footed movers he can't get him work off against. Anyway... Vanes, in my opinion, is about as good as a fighter in his current division can be, that's more than likely never going to hold a serious title. His results against the opposition near the top of the heap show that, I think.
damn.... seems like almost everyone is taking Potapov... ugh. I feel I shouldnt take a risk in this fight, havent really 'studied' this matchup the way I should if I am gonna be going against the grain like this... but, just watching a few minutes on each guy and really feel like taking Nieves. Not sure why everyone is picking Pota... maybe ya'll know something I dont. hmmmm..... decisions decisions. Well.... almost for sure gonna regret this, but.... gonna go ahead and go with Nieves by SD
