That's ****ing awesome man. Did you get a chance to chat with him at all? Mir's a smart guy with a good knowledge of the fight game. I think he's FAR better suited for analysis some other ex and current fighters that are currently doing it. I remember he did some commentary in the WEC, was pretty good.
He did a 2 and half hour lesson at my gym, it was incredible. He's got so much knowledge of Jiu Jitsu and body leverage, it was such an honour. After the loss to Overeem, he developed a new chokehold because he thought he had Alistair locked in and when he watched the tape back he realised if he'd have angled his forearm a different degree he'd have won the fight. He was talking about what I said the other day on the MMA thread how wrestlers fight from the top and BJJ from the bottom and he hates how one discipline has an advantage when it comes to point scoring. He also said he's still fighting and has worked on new locks that aren't used by anyone currently fighting. Got my picture with him at the end of the seminar. He's so cool as well, saying how he realised early on there's a difference between submissions that hurt and submissions that break bones. He's easily the most accomplished HW BJJ man in history so to have him there was amazing for my gym. I so wanted to talk to him about Gracie and how far he feels BJJ has moved on and MMA since then but it was so crowded we never got more than a couple of minutes. He's a massive fight nerd, he was quoting moves and locks from early UFC events (that I've been watching recently if you follow that thread) and I was amazed at the analysis he had for early fights, for example why Ortiz was so dominant as a wrestler in early UFC amongst other stuff. It was a memory I'll have forever mate.
Change from Ruiz to Ramos ud, Ramos ud, Lemieux ud (very good odds on Stevens, thinking about making a small bet at 4:1)
I can see Stevens catching Lemieux in the early rounds (rnd 3 or 4), and stopping him. He's very sneaky with his left hook, and imo it's his only chance at winning; surprising Lemieux early.
