Yes, those are very solid reasons to back Langford, you nearly have me convinced but I'm still going to stick to my Khurtsidze pick. Thanks for that though, and also thanks to @Russell.
The Borrego match has been tossed. It won't count. @Russell As far as my thoughts on Ryder-Fielding, basically what @moparfan said. @Drew101 As far as the Lopez-Perez match goes, I think it should count as a robbery, its not like that's our official picks or have and real bearing on our final tallies by the end of the year, any match that's result has a question mark over it, should be added. And since you, moparfan and I, one official judge, the crowd last night, people on various Boxing Forums and on Twitter thought it was a robbery, it should count as a robbery.
Who says Khurtsidze can win a battle of attrition if it comes to that? Douglas could have won that match had he made a few slight adjustments, its not like he didn't snag a few rounds, most Khurtsidze matches are bull vs. matador, but if that matador stupidly stays on the ropes and ships a lot of unneeded punishment for long stretches of time, eventually that matador will get KTFO, and Langford is intelligent enough to spin out of there, and counter him as he moves out of range. Langford is huge like SMW huge, and I don't think its going to be nearly as easy to bully and boss him around the ring as it was for Douglas who could easily make LMW.
I do! I hope you stick with your pick doe, I'll give you credit if he wins. And I'm switching to Porter SD
Yeah I did actually. I watched a match of his before the Eubank match that eventually fell through, and thought he had a chance against Eubank as well. Langford is far more skilled than people seem to realize, granted he had a very close match with Sheedy, but that was similar to Calzaghe-Reid with him fighting a tit for tat tactical fight, Khurtsidze fights nothing like Sheedy, I think this could play out in a similar fashion to the Rios match, with Langford using his size advantage to bully Avtandil believe it or not. The old man may end up getting beaten up, Langford did as well against Rios as Lemieux did.
I plan to. I didn't buckle with Berchelt or Sor Rungvisai and I got that same feeling here. And no, stick with Berto, PLEASE!
