Ill be honest I dont remember the last fight I was quite this unsure on (fight where I completely know both fighters).... on one hand I simply see this being too much too soon for AJ. I question if he has the craftyness to not let Wlad land a fight changer on him at some point. On the other hand.... Wlad, and I have been a big supporter of his since pre sanders, is simply not as good as his legend suggests (imo) and a faded, old Wlad, with a decent sized layoff from the ring, to come back and beat someone in their absolute physical peak? Hard to know what Wlad will and wont be capable of at this age, after a layoff, and after a crushing loss (mentally). And some matchups are truly 50/50.... they fight 10 times, one guy will win 5 of them. This could be one of those matchups just based on power, hittability, and chins alone (they both have the power to KO, they are both hittable, means unpredictable) I have really really started to feel this week that AJ is in over his head here.... Wlad is so focused, hes looking so sharp in training, AJ seems heavy, Wlad has come in at his lightest since what... Chagaev? ugh.... I honestly want to go with Wlad here but when I watch the tapes, I just dont know.... I favor AJ slightly. But theres a layer of guile to Wlad, where though it might be horrible to watch, its effective... and it allows him to be there until he lands a fight changer. Its hard for me to not see him doing this to someone like AJ who just doesnt have the xp to truly understand those layers yet. Havent been this pumped for a fight in a long time, kinda rekindling my love for the sport lol. Which means the fight itself is probably a boring, frustrating, robbery lol. anyways, AJ ko 5 will be my pick. I think I will kick myself for not going with Wlad.... but oh well.
Nietes UD, Campbell UD, Quigg UD, Klitschko KO, Marrero UD, Omar Chavez SD Open for challenges for the People's Championship.
Dilemma for me is picking against one of my all time favorites in Klitschko. This is the first time I'll be picking against him since I became a hardcore boxing fan.
Okay I figured it out! I am switching to Joshua KO. My plan is: I will go with Joshua in the league just because I am thinking of betting some cash on Klitschko. So it will be covered. If I don't win in the league I will win in the betting site.
I have watched and listened and I know all about wlads history so why am I still believing the Eddie Hearn hype train?? I am that dumb British fan! I am well and truly sucked in and I am Joshua all the way, via TKO RD 1! A big part of me beliefs that if Joshua lands it's all over. For some reason I have the image of wlad doing bam I impressions but that was over 10 years ago. Sky are playing me like a kipper!! He landed lots on whyte and he didn't go anywhere for a while and if it goes anywhere past 4 rounds it would be turning in wlads favour and past 8 it is almost inconceivable for wlad to lose. So why do I still pick Joshua?? I am just hoping the league is split so this doesn't turn into a dumb pick. It would be hard to watch me stick with Joshua if the majority of the top 10 all go wlad. Damn!!
