Hey guys, I missed the afternoon showing of Wlad-AJ but I caught the replay on HBO unspoiled, my article was close to accurate if Wlad had of just pushed for the KO in the sixth, I'm gutted and pissed Wlad didn't go all out and for the kill, it was an amazing match, Wlad showed immense heart and a will of iron, and proved his chin is better than people give it credit for, AJ did a good job, but as I've said for quite some time, he's limited and has no chin, and it wasn't so much him showing his heart, Wlad let him off the hook. Regardless it surpassed my expectations and was easily one of the best Heavyweight matches in recent memory. BTW, Fury schools AJ, and Wilder and Ortiz KHTFO. Fabulous job from Pinoy Nelly, UTF and KiwiMan on the RBR. And Drinquor, you're doing an awesome job on the updates, I might just go ahead and let you have that. But I'll keep Fight Schedule duty. I'll miss Canelp-Chavez too. F********!!!!! But I'll keep checking in when I can find a minute here and there.
Wlad going down like that traumatized me and I'm still not over it today. Salty as **** is what I am.
Anyway, if Tevin Farmer was skilled enough to make Redkach look like a reckless, bamboozled caveman than I imagine Argenis Mendez will probably do the same. He's been in very tough literally every time out the past few years, but I think this is a match up where he'll be the one benefiting from the styles clash.
Damn I thought it's just me. I feel the same ... Don't even want to watch again the highlights... It makes me super sad.
Omar Chavez is the brother of Chavez Jr, Ramon Alvarez is Canelo's brother. So it was the brothers fighting before the big fight Saturday. Still, actually Ramon Alvarez did upset Omar Chavez in their first fight, so technically it's now 1-1 between the families.
Yeah, I've been a fan of Wlad's for years and it stings. I won't be rewatching the fight anytime soon.
Ooooh, duh. Gotcha. I think Alvarez being blown out in a few rounds was a pretty unexpected result considering their first fight was a close decision. So maybe First Blood TM still applies.
The weird thing is I never liked him , because of his fighting style with all the hugs and holds... But damn there was so much desire for win in his eyes. He looked very very good for a 41 old man. I felt like I watched a movie and got mindblown by someones motivation and heart.
That all just makes it even worse, you could tell the guys career basically hinged on going out on top, in style. So close.
I hear that. I had Marrero all the way when the fight was first announced, only to switch at the last moment to try and make up additional ground after having a pretty good week. I was almost certain that Matrix would win, too. Serves me right to lose for trying to play the game rather than simply picking the fight.
