    The one match of Mendez's I've seen he looked like Magomed Abdusalamov in the Mike Perez match by the end of it, and he was in against a light punching journeyman.

    Yeah, that was an incredibly traumatic experience for me as well, compounded by the fact that I was going through a similar ordeal myself, my sister had just gotten out of the hospital after having to undergo brain surgery after she fell and hit her head causing her to slip into a coma, and while they were checking for a bleed they discovered an diagnosed brain tumor, which in retrospect was the reason for the fall. She recovered to an extent, but she was in a coma for a week, and had to learn to walk again, and spent almost 3 months in rehab. The Magomed-Perez match happened about 2 weeks after she got home.
