As much as I like Canelo and dislike Kovalev I am stunned with how many people across the internet are favouring Canelo. The betting markets echo that sentiment.

Even though Kovalev is 36, a raging alcoholic, a nutjob and fought not too long ago I fail to see why this isn't a 50-50 fight or at most 60-40 in either direction.

I am picking Canelo more out of heart rather than head but I can easily see Kovalev putting the hammer down very quick and easily. It is a shame that Canelo won't earn much from this other than a belt at another weight class. If he wins then people will say Kovalev was shot anyway and Canelo took advantage of that...but if he loses it is a fairly humiliating and humbling loss, especially if he gets stopped. Huge pressure on Canelo. Kovalev gets a payday and a potential to be the name on everyone's lips momentarily for beating Boxing's biggest name.

I am also amazed at the lack of publicity and promotion about this. Maybe everyone thinks this is a gimme.
