I'm surprised to see the vast majority pick Makabu to beat Mchunu again on Saturday. A real 50/50 fight this one is. The first fight was highly competitive where Mchunu was ahead and at times light Makabu up like a Christmas tree before gassing and ultimately getting KTFOed in the 11th. Thabiso has plenty of advantages coming into the fight:

1) Activity - last fought in March against Tischenko while Makabu last fought in December 2020 against Durodola.
2) Mchunu has been training in Mexico for this fight exclusively and appears to be in excellent shape. Whereas Makabu has trained in Congo IIRC.
3) The change in Makabu's style. If before he was a high guard, pressure fighter, now Makabu has employed a more Adonis Stevenson type style where he keeps his legs really far and tries to box more. Big mistake if he tries to box against Mchunu. With Makabu's nonexistent defense and fairly limited skill set he will find himself in a world of trouble against Mchunu if he makes it a boxing match.
4) With the supposed Canelo fight next Makabu may be underestimating Mchunu as an easy fight.

Not saying Makabu can't win it, obviously he did once and can do it again. Ilunga can prove me completely wrong and smash Mchunu to a million little pieces and make me look like a total douchebag.

Terrific match up, can't wait for it.
