At least there's an asterisk on both losses because of that cheating Mexican.

Eh, the first time, I don't buy that PED positive at all, but the missing of the weight was total bull****, I can't wait for Inoue to disembowel him, but alas, he'll probably haul ass to SBW.

I feel your pain man. But I honestly don't understand the switch to Yamanaka. This was a forgone conclusion... why would the fight have hone any differently than the first? Especially with Nery coming in overweight. Like I said in another thread... It was deliberate as opposed to being actually drained. He's scum for sure, but can't see why people went against him here.

I put ZERO thought into who I picked in the rematch, Bery all the way, quite frankly I didn't put very much thought into picking Nery the first time, I felt it in my gut that he was all wrong for Yamanaka, who was there for the taking, and I knew nothing would change in the rematch. In the interim he stopped Villanueva, which Tete couldn't even pull off. That was a top notch win, clearly he wasn't coming into this match off of a bad performance. Yamanaka deluded himself into thinking there was a nefarious reason for him losing. And there wasn't, it was just a old age running headlong into a young bull.

Yeah the first fight had an Uchiyama/Corrales feel to it....Hell, the styles are even similar! Difference being Uchiyama was at least able to channel everything had left in the tank and put a much better 2nd effort in - just coming short. Yamanaka was never going to do that, especially with Nery coming in much stronger and more powerful than before.

I mean this clearly wasn’t a pick where I thought Yamanaka would actually win. I knew I was most likely gonna take a loss but it’s March, I knew it was easy to make up. I hoped for him to win. I just didn’t wanna pick that cheat and it would’ve been such poetic justice for Yamanaka to win, but alas, that was nothing more than wishful thinking.

Honestly the Yamanaka fight should have been tossed when Nery failed to make weight. I think that should be considered next time.

I think Tete would knock Nery out.
