I put three ****ing hours into that list, and it ends up like this, Jesus, completely ruined, with hurt feelings, all because because I wanted to have a serious passionate debate about Tarantino vs. Kurosawa.

I probably shouldn't have pulled the elitist card, I was joking about that one. Pardon me.

 

You know, I just went back and read through all of that, aside from joking about you being trendy and an elitist that's about the only mean thing I did, then I dropped that, and then you go into some rant about what a douchebag I am, that I'm insane, and what a passive aggressive control freak I am, because I wanted to debate you a little, and you didn't know where to go with your argument. Here I was feeling bad, but no, I'm not the one in the wrong here.

 

I've seen my fair share of Bollywood movies, they're absolutely awful. But I do like some of the hot Indian chicks in them. And I agree with you, I don't think anything should have devolved into that either. Russell assumes I have bad intentions at this point, when I genuinely did want to debate him. Oh well, its a pity, he and I have far more in common than we don't, but we have completely different temperaments and communication styles.

Oh Jesus, lighten up man. I was kidding with you. Stop taking me so seriously, you're only hurting yourself. I do that with a lot of people, guys make jokes about me all the time, and I roll with it, I do it on most of the RBR's, the only people I get snippy with are the one's who legit come for me. I can guarantee from here on out, I will no longer ever, ever, ever joke with you again, its clear you cant take it and don't get it. Sorry.

 

Honestly, I'd completely forgotten about that. I knew you drank, but didn't think you were fully sober. So I do apologize for that.

As far as being an elitist douchebag that "looks down my nose" at people who smoke weed? How is being anti-drug, which is about the most uncool, unhip and conservative thing to be in this uber liberal pro-drug culture we live in elitist? The pro-drug people are the elitist from where I see it, I'm the "square" in this equation.

Personally I don't give a **** if any of you do drugs, smoke cigarettes or drink, I'm stridently pro-legalization of the latter two, that most people seem to be down on. I'm tongue in cheek playing that part of being the stodgy a-hole. Yes as a joke. More power to you, I couldn't care less if you smoke weed or not.

 

Okay, I need to get something off of my chest. Let me clarify something, and quite frankly I don't need to, but since an accusation has been put out there about me, since I'm not one to let a false narrative no matter how trivial, take hold, I'm going to refute it. I apologize in advance if this is a tad bit self indulgent.

This isn't directed at Russell, I just wanted to rant about elitists.

To me, the worst insult one could ever level at me, is calling me an elitist or simply implying that I'm one, because literally no word could come closer to being the antithesis of what I am than that one.

I come from a working class family, I'm a devout meat eater, view vegans as snobs, I value religion, I view atheists as boorish fanatics, I value family traditions, cultural traditions and family values. Yet paradoxically I'm anti-puritan and very pro-sex, across the board, its no business of the state or feminists or the church or anyone to tell you who to love. I'm pro-individualist, I support anyone and their choice to live an oddball off kilter counter culture existence, and oppose anyone trying to force to do otherwise, and conversely I oppose the counter culture trying to impose their worldview on the more traditional among us. I'm personally not fond of abortion at all and don't think it should be used as an alternative for contraception, but think it should remain legal for women in the first two trimesters, and only legal in the third to protect the health of the mother. I'm viciously pro-free speech, am a fanatic when it comes to un-PC stand up comedy from the 60-90's, I grew up watching reruns of sitcoms from the 70's like All In The Family, Sanford & Son and Maude alongside shows like Married With Children when I was a kid, all of them rubbed off on me for better or worse. I hate censorship, and think everyone should be heard, no matter how idiotic their opinion. I hate elitists trying to tell people what they should and shouldn't be allowed to hear. As if they, in their ivory towers in all of their infinite wisdom, know what's good for us all.

I hate snobbery when it comes to art, since my art was scoffed at, as too violent, strange, perverse, masculine etc.I despise modern art and the post-modernist movement when it pertains to architecture, its nihilistic, repulsive and ugly and its slowly stripping the world of all it beauty, I hate cynical post-modernism in all of its forms, if anything my worldview is primitivistic, I'm a philistine, a luddite, a barbarian, that sadly has to force myself to endure to this horridly restrictive world we all are being forced to live in, which I find suffocating, lacking inspiration, regimented and ultimately fascist.

I detest Boxing snobs, my favorite fighters are fan favorite blood and guts warriors that want to put on a show, and beat the hell out of each other, and while yes, I also happened to be well versed in understanding the sweet science, and I admire the craft shown by aggressive fighters who implement their technique in a variety of innovative ways, I tend to abhor overly defensive dull fighters. You're in the hurt business, a manly, animalistic, primal violent sport, stop trying to put perfume on a pig and fight.... We fans and the fighters themselves should admit to ourselves, we love it because it taps into that inner aggression, that viciousness that most people would like to unleash, and you all live vicariously through a good old fashioned beatdown.

I'm a lowly worthless pissant that knows how to string words together well, and bull****, a nothing, but my articles caught on, because I wanted to share my enthusiasm that I feel for certain fighters, to enlighten people, to educate, to make people better more well versed fans, make them as knowledgeable as I am, same goes for my take on films, sure I happen to know a ridiculous amount of trivial knowledge about film and the history of Hollywood and foreign films, but instead of storing all the bull**** up in my head, I want to share it with as many people as I possibly can, even if that is just the people on this relatively small website, because it pains me that so many Boxers or Directors or Actors or Musicians, that should be known worldwide have been or will be forgotten completely and thrown into the dustbin of history. And as such a passionate fan of these people it physically pains he to see their efforts go unseen or unheralded. So I do my best to make anyone who'll listen, like a crazy fanatical carnival barker on the sidewalk wearing a placard, to listen, and watch and love stuff as deeply as I love stuff. I wish my passion could single handedly replace all the morose depressing humorless cynicism and repulsive spin, but that's like pissing in the wind, because this nihilistic culture we live in is so ingrained, no one is capable of breaking its hold. Especially not a loser like me. But, one can dream, but that's ultimately all it is. Now who's the one who sounds cynical.

I hate elitists with a passion, they who think they have all the answers, who believe they know all, have ruined the very fabric of our society and every thing that's every made this world beautiful, by tearing it apart and trying to rebuild in its place, the vision of it they see in the utopianistic madness they have bobbling around in their heads, as opposed coming to terms with reality and appreciating it for its beauty, warts, scabs, scars and all.

I hate eltists, because they're the walking embodiment of the phrase, don't let perfection be the enemy of good, well they do, all of the time.
