3 of my top 4 are on that list. But WOWS is next level good. It was August 2014 when I bought it on DVD and what a glorious month that was. Every night I watched it over the summer, such great memories. At that point I'd been teaching 4 years and I was so tempted to just not go back after the holidays and become a salesman. I had no mortgage back then, I was tempted, really tempted. But then reality kicked in and I got back to the grind.

I have to be honest. I'm not the biggest Friday the 13th fan. The Burning does what any of them does but better. The original is easily the best though. a few others are solid campy fun but mediocre at best. Halloween of course gets huge credit considering all of them have ripped it off in some way or another, Nightmare due to the originality of FK as a slasher villain. I agree with your assessment largely in short.

I thought ET was much better paced than some of his later films...Dragged a little at points upon adult viewing (full disclosure: loved it as a child)....But on the whole held, it held my attention and interest much more than some of his later , more "adult" films.

That said, you are right... a lot of his films kind of lose something as they progress.

In terms of flow, I think Raiders of the Lost Ark remains his best work.

You should do a list of Spielberg films that actually have an ending on par with the main body of the film.

For me the trade off of a great film with a **** ending was always worth it with him, but for that last half hour the fear of how has the film would become always kicked in.

Hey man, to each his own. I don't get it though, I really liked the film, a lot, probably one of the best films that year, but nothing next level or anything, its not even DiCaprio's best, I prefer Titanic easily.

I love it, the full star wars universe is so immersive. Even the characters we never see on screen like Thrawn, Bane, Plageuis, Ahsoka, Rax, etc. It's incredible.

It's the perfect cinematic experience for me. An incredible tale based on a true story where the good guy is really the bad guy. It doesn't get any better.

Now out those which ones have an ending scoring higher than 5/10? Where 1 out of 10 is "and it was all just a dream" and 10 out of 10 is Sixth Sense?

Probably most of the films in my Top five, and the quality of the endings trail off the further down it goes, I put more stock in a good ending than you do, it can make or break a film for me. A great ending in my book is True Romance or Die Hard. I thought the ending of 6th Sense was great, but hated the movie leading up to it.

Not to open up another can of worms regarding Chris's director's list....But...:D

No Michael Curtiz, even in the HM section of your list? I mean, I'd toss in Zhang Ximou, too...but I'm a sucker for Chinese cinema, sweeping cinematography. Not necessarily everyone's cup of tea, I realize.

Die Hard is the only entry in my "top ten Christmas Films list" I never get past it due to how epic a film it is.

The only negative is the retcon about how he noticed the watches that the baddies wore.

Anybody watch Westworld? That show is ****ing amazing. Has the potential to surpass Game of Thrones as my most favorite show of all time.

The Capricorns are in agreement here! I LOVE the concept and plot development so far. It has great potential and from what they have done already, I am confident it will be one of my all time favorites!
