Speaking of artsy films that are considered pretentious borefests by most moviegoers, I watched Annihilation last night, I loved every second of it, IMO in surpasses both Garland's Ex-Machina, but also Villaneuve's Arrival both in terms of sheer entertainment and depth. And I was a fan of both of those films, so I'm not slagging them, for a follow up to a film as significant as Ex-Machina, I was shocked at how little fanfare Annihilation got, and after watching it, incredibly annoyed, its a truly profound film that harkens back to films like the original Solaris and 2001, for any heady sci-fi fanboy, its a must see.:deal:

I'm sorely disappointed by the lack of cult, bad, and or obscure movie shout outs from you CST. :hang

Hey man, I'm like Riki Rachtman from Headbanger's Ball, I always try to keep one foot in the gutter and one fist in the gold.:deal: Today I'm having a gold day, maybe tomorrow I'll wallow in the gutter, I'm flexible like that.:deal:....:dunno

Here, I'll throw you a bone, this is The Loreley's Grasp, the follow up of Amando De Ossorio, brilliant Portuguese cult director and creator of the iconic zombie Knights Templar Blind Dead films. And this is every bit as good, and I'm one of about 12 people that have seen it.

I implore you @Russell if you haven't seen any of their films, seek out the films of Jess Franco, Jean Rollin and Paul Naschy (aka Jacinto Molina), been a fan of these three since my late teens, that being said, I'll have to hold your hand and walk you through the Franco minefield, since he made around 180 films, 100 are probably porn, another 40 are pure feces, but the pron and the feces were merely an instrument to make money to fund his passion projects, he actually put some effort into. so the remaining 40, are haunting, ethereal, perverse, existential genuinely bizarre curios, that I anyway view as masterpieces.

Have you seen the actual film series? I won't waste my time on the TV series, I can't imagine in a million years it'll touch the pure evil that William Friedkin conjured for the first film, which still haunts me deeply 30 years after seeing it, and seeing it another 5 or 6 times since. Part 2 is equally impressive, but more in an intellectual instead of visceral way and part 3 is a solid all around fright fest, while not of the same caliber of the first two, its a worthwhile viewing experience.

Yeah, i watched all movies. The first one was absolutely disturbing. I like it but i also like some new things and the new series of course hasn't to do anything with the first movie but it's freshening. Something like Outcast (by the way a pretty good series!).

I hope you skipped Dominion. Its pure trash, as for the TV show, I've been tempted to watch it, since it seems disconnected from the original film series enough to give it a watch, so maybe. That being said, nothing will ever, and I mean eeeeeeeeeeevvvvveeerrrrr get me to watch that sacrilegious piece of horse**** that is the Lethal Weapon TV series, the mong they replaced Mel Gibson with is a sickening embarrassment, and to replace Danny Glover with Damon Wayans, makes me what to knock down a wall with my fists. Just looking at the trailer I felt like I was going to spontaneously combust.

Dear god, i LOVE Lethal Weapon TV series! I LOVE IT!!! Absolutely genious stuff. Of course you shouldn't compare it with the movies but as a tv series it is great. And both are a great combo imo

I'm a dedicated Mel Gibson fanboy, Lethal Weapon 1&2 and the entire Mad Max franchise are sacred to me, I just cannot get past that guy or his face. However if you want to see Damon Wayans in an actually decent buddy cop type movie, seek out The Last Boy Scout.
