    I'm so glad to see the Oscars finally start throwing a bone here and there to genre films, unfortunately we're not getting the genuinely great genre films as nominees now are we? No, we just got a nomination for Get Out a film that if you take away the "gimmick" is basically on the level or Urban Legend, the I Spit On Your Grave and House Of Wax remakes or I Know What You Did Last Summer. In other words, a standard exploitation picture.

    Although I do find it hilarious that they're literally doing the very thing the film itself is mocking White people for.:lol: The irony I'm sure is completely lost on them. I hope Jordan Peele wins and tells them he was making fun of all of them, and it is in fact mocking liberals, that would be priceless.:lol:

    Haven't seen The Shape Of Water, that might be worthy of a nom, although it does have a SJW undertone, a girl with a taste for the forbidden.... Gill Man ****ing.:lol:

    Since they're in such a genre loving mood.

    Its a pity they failed to notice THREE OF THE BEST GENRE FILMS OF THE DECADE. **** YOU AMPAS.:mad:

    2017 was not a good year for the cinema. Damn probably I will be forced to watch some bullshits to get my award for the Oscars 2018 on imdb...

    Yeah I agree it was a terrible year, aside from Blade Runner which I adored, same for WW and Logan, there were very few films I truly enjoyed, I really liked Valerian, American Made and Guardians Of The Galaxy 2. Mother was solid and haunting, but ultimately painful and unpleasant viewing experience, aside from those 7 films, which aren't what I'd call Oscar bait, it was slim pickings. I had a copy of Dunkirk and looked at it sitting there for two weeks on my table, and I couldn't bring myself to give a **** and watch it, so I sent it back.:lol:

    Well Dunkirk is a little overrated I think. I feel like this was the worst movie made by Nolan. Anyways I had it rated with 6.5 - 7

    I've sent the WBK Elo rankings to @nellybc so we should have match-ups soon. Thank you @nellybc for organizing this.

    I also just wanted to say that @pablinov and @Oneirokritis were both very unlucky with the Spence call; but we had to call it one way or the other and Pinoy's point that we have traditionally relied on Boxrec swayed it. Someone was always going to be hard done by; so, respect to @pablinov/@Oneirokritis and we keep battling on.
