What happened to logic? What happened to not letting emotions govern your decision making process? Isn't that what our whole legal system is based on? Weighing out the options and coming to a rational, reasonable and most importantly logical conclusion? Not anymore I guess.

I'm going to pose a bunch of questions for you to ponder long and hard, I want well reasoned thoughts for those who actually care enough to answer.

Can we let everyone on planet earth into the United States? After we let all of Mexico in, what if Guatemala wants in, how about El Salvador? Belize? Costa Rica? Panama? The what about South America? After we've let everyone south of the border in, then plane loads of Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Afghans, Iraqis, Iranians, Syrians, the whole of Africa etc. will all come calling. And after all, many of these countries are in terrible shape, impoverished, crime riddled, corrupt governments, they're all in need of dire help, and once we get this open borders ball rolling, how can we stop it? What's the end game here? We can't save the whole world, because if we start, then we'll have to pick and choose who gets preferential treatment, and that wouldn't be fair would it? How about this, people can apply for citizenship like they used to, and then can be properly vetted and allowed in, and the people that sneak in, when caught... have to leave. We must have a set of rules to follow, otherwise lawlessness will reign. What's your answer to the problem, because let everyone in, is a can of worms, I don't think any of you have fully thought out the long term ramifications of. Think logically, not emotionally.

Guns... What do we do? I hate school shootings, mass shootings, crime in Chicago, its terrible, all of it. There's plenty of evidence that the people committing the crimes in Chicago obtained guns illegally, the people commiting these mass shootings are severely mentally ill and are on SSRI's. How did they slip through the cracks? We have rules in place to suss out the crackpots from buying weapons. Oh, that's right, the people with the guns are either getting them illegally, or the bureaucracy fails, and they get them when they shouldn't have. So we should fix the system and crackdown, when people call in warnings that people are a danger, follow up, when people are diagnosed with a mental illness, follow up and put that info in the system, make sure we abide by the already standing rules instead of being lazy asses, and maybe we could cut down on the overall crime rates. Because banning guns isn't going to happen, and if we did, how exactly are we going to confiscate 310 million guns? Are we ready for the civil war that will follow that ruling? Also are we ready for the illegal gun trade to flourish, and the horrifically violent widespread turf gang wars between gun runners that will spring up afterward? Think logically, not emotionally.

On to abortion, I'm pro-choice, although not for the third trimester except for in cases of the health of the mother. I'm sure if they were raped or molested, it wouldn't take them 6 months to make their mind up. But let's just say Trump appoints a Supreme Court judge that overturns Roe v. Wade, will the world end? Does hell freeze over? What happens exactly? We do have birth control pills, we do have morning after pills, we do have contraceptives that didn't exist pre-Roe v. Wade ruling. How about taking a little personal responsibility? What's the worst that will happen? I'm pretty sure there'll be caveats for rape, incest and for the life of the mother, so I doubt that'll be an issue. In the end, how will the world change? Sure, I DO NOT want to see it overturned, but if it does, the world will not end, and neither will abortions, women and doctors won't be sent to jail. Do you really think the most politically expedient thing to do is outlawing something that a large chunk of the country are opposed to seeing outlawed, even in the GOP. It won't happen, because no one wants a civil war, and even if it does, it won't be all that harsh, it may end up being a little more tightly regulated. Think logically, not emotionally.

Have people who are against hate speech thought out their positions thoroughly? What the ramifications will be if free speech is curtailed to protect people's feelings? How a ruling like that could be exploited by the Right as well, to throw dissenters in jail, or anti-Christian liberals in jail, or people who frequently verbally attack cisgendered white males in jail, how about people who criticize government policies and are against wars? Where does this all end? Everyone has feelings, everyone thinks they are right, and the other side is wrong, all we're going to get is one side censoring the other, then when they lose and the other side win, then that side will censor the people that censored them for 4 to 8 years, this is opening Pandora's Box, it will be an endless constantly vacillating series of reprisals by the winning side against the losing side, ad infinitum, does anyone really want to live in that world? Do we want to live in a world where everything you say is deconstructed by some tyrannical friend on Facebook looking for a gotcha moment to ruin your life with? Or totally taking something you said out of context, and because no one wants to go against the mob and call bull**** on it, they just run with it and ruin your life over a misunderstanding? Words are words, words are not violence, not everyone is going to like you, and that's okay, you don't have to outlaw someone not liking you in an effort to make yourself feel better, how about this? Free speech can be allowed to continue, and we can start teaching inner strength, and imbuing people with a more well developed set of coping mechanisms, so they can get stronger when someone tears them down, you know, like the old saying... whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger? Sticks and stones, toughen up. Think logically, not emotionally.

Here's the reality, we live in the most liberal society in the history of the world, we have nothing left to ***** about, so we sit around making **** up in our minds, even when there's no bad guys left, we make pointless minor little molehill like quibbles into mountains and use that as ammo to create another enemy. We have a compulsion, a need for friction, something that pushes us, an emptiness or void we're trying to fill up by proving what good people we are, how virtuous we are. But all that is, is a compulsion, you are already a good person, but like with most faiths, you have that inner voice pushing you to be even more perfect, well, don't let perfect be the enemy of the good. Liberalism or should I say Progressivism at this point has filled a void that a religion has either never inhabited or replaced a religion for them, it is a faith, similar to how conservatives merged their politics and faith decades ago with Reagan. Since Liberals aren't all that religious to begin with, its the perfect fit, well sadly, they've now become Political Evangelical Fundamentalists. Well for me as a Liberal, that terrifies the hell out of me, because I was always one of those guys screaming, why won't the normal conservatives call the religious nuts out on their bull****, why are they just standing on the sidelines letting these extremist kooks take over their party and ideology. Well..... like most Liberals, I was cognizant of it when conservatives were doing it, but unlike Liberals I don't have a double standard, so I'm cognizant of it now that Liberals are doing the same damned thing. They have an emotional fire that's burning so deeply that its consuming them, like zealots, they're out with their pitchforks looking for a bad guy, someone, anyone to blame all the ills of the world on, that they can't fix, and just like Christians can't fix the world's ills with their faith without trying to reprogram the world through socially engineering, guess what.... neither can Progressives. Either way, Far Right or Far Left the end result will be tyranny. Stop being so goddamned emotional and return to logic.

I could do a breakdown like this with every issue, we all need to calm the hell down, and stop acting like literally everything is the end of the world, we're driving ourselves crazy, by listening to the echo chamber that is the media whipping up a frenzy over every little thing, and then what happens? The bottom is supposed to fall out, the world is going to end, and then a week later they move on to another story, oh yeah... because they over-exaggerated once again. Stop being a stressed out pearl clutching hyperventilating crybaby loon. Learn from last week, that the end didn't come, everything will be perfectly fine... so guess what, next week, whatever you're fretting about today, will seem totally insignificant, and everything will once again be fine.

Think logically, not emotionally and chill the **** out.
