And Shane Black (Hawkins in Predator, wrote Lethal Weapon, Last Boy Scout and directed The Nice Guys and Iron Man 3) and Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad, both of them) directed and wrote it, John Davis, producer of the original produced this as well.:wanker:wanker:wanker:wanker:wanker

Yes, but.... that's because the original wasn't all that great. And it was made in the 60's, while the 60's isn't an easy style to emulate, the Westerns were. The 80's on the other hand, that's not an easy era to get the ambiance down at all, ironically the Coen's didn't have the 80's vibe down, even in the 80's. Some come close, but they're all usually off by just a little.

Speaking of the 80's, I'm obsessed with this channel on Youtube. NewRetroWave. Any fan of the 80's will love it.

Hollyweird remakes moves because it's all out of ideas and needs to fill in all of the holes between crappy Star Wars movies and the hordes of Super hero flicks.

At least with The Predator and the new Halloween, some of the original guys are involved, and they're sequels, in spite of their names.

Yeah those might be cool. I completely despise remakes on principle. They're done way too often and more often than not they don't just fall short of the original but miss the mark all together and end up as a steaming pile of excrement.

What's the point of remaking a classic that everyone loves? It's shameless cash grabbing. Now a **** movie with an interesting script and premise like "Soldier." that was ruined by a mentally handicapped director is a different story.

Same here, I generally despise most remakes, there's only been a handful that are good, you know my feelings on the subject, since I wrote an entire article on it. I could write 10 more if you got me wound up.

I wanted to flay Paul WS Anderson alive after the abortion that was Aliens vs. Predator, I waited almost a decade to see that, I was a fan of the Dark Horse comics from the early 90's and he butchered them. That being said, I did like the last few Resident Evil films. They were fun time killers, maybe he's only inspired when he's working with his wife.

for me, it wasn't even that i had an intellectual advantage, it was just what i was being told had no logic or sense to it, so i just questioned it all time. i think religion relies on sheep and "yes men/women" tbh

He's one of the directors I hate most in that genre/s... Second to only maybe someone like Michael Bay or Roland Emmerich.
