Same scene both movies. Look how effective and smooth Infernal Affairs is then watch how clumsy and stupid The Departed is.

Infernal Affairs is superior in every way. I saw Infernal Affairs and said "This is the best action movie since Lethal Weapon or Die Hard." I'm still kicking myself for not watching the sequels, because 2 and 3 are supposed to be awesome as well.

I lost a lot of respect for Scorsese because of how clumsy and stupid his film was, but also because Infernal Affairs came out in 2002. The Departed came out in 2006. It's one thing remaking Cape Fear thirty years later but remaking a great film four years later just because it wasn't in English! Shame on him. Shame on him for taking credit for everything right with that film too and acting like it was all his idea, because no one had heard of Infernal Affairs. This is like if he'd remade Hard Boiled or The Killer ripping off John Woo in the 90s. What a snake.

Remember how in the 90s Tarantino had a distribution company called Rolling Thunder Pictures? That's how I first saw Sonatine and Chungking Express. He had the class to say, "That's a great picture and I'm going to make sure more people see it." instead of saying "That's a great picture, I think I'll steal it and take all the credit." Imagine if someone tried remaking Pan's Labyrinth, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, or I Saw the Devil right after it got released? That's something hacks are supposed to do. Great directors come up with their own movies.

5. The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane - didn't see
6. Pretty Woman- the most realistic portrayal of prostitution ever
7. Total Recall - awesome
8. Gremlins 2 - the one in the skyscraper? Well, I guess it was fun.
9. Another 48hrs - You think it's better than the original? I like 'em both.
10. Henry & June - huh, I was just reading Tropic of Cancer and the Diary of Anais Nin.

12. King Of New York - didn't do it for me

HM: I Come In Peace - You know they only named it that to get the funny quip at the end. That's all that's stayed with me.
