Mananquil won two rounds maximum here + one close round makes it 5-3 in the best case for the Pinoy...like the 77-75 Maruta scorecard. 5-3 rounds for Mananquil or even 4-4 rounds is a joke lol. Maruta won all the rounds pretty comfortable. Typical home bull**** decision. Phillippines corrupt as South Africa, Australia or Germany.

That Mananquil card was horrendous but not that bad of a decision. Feel bad for Maruta because he was dominating the second half of the fight and would have stopped Mananquil if it was a 10 or 12-rounder. But those early rounds were really close because Maruta was mostly picking his shots and I wanted to see him be more active. I’m not surprised if those were the rounds that Mananquil won on the judges’ cards.

Take that back! Lol. There are robberies in every country but the Philippines is pretty fair to visitors. If it was as bad as those countries, Mananquil would have walked out with a win ;)

Mananquil better thank every single Filipino in that crowd. They were cheering after every shot to sway any close/non-dominant Maruta round to Mananquil. Probably the best Filipino crowd I’ve seen recently, probably because of the huge size disparity and huge underdog factor lol

Nah, Mananquil won not a single round on my card and the close rounds were all favoring Maruta too as he threw more, landed more and better shots. Mananquil definitely had his moments throughout the fight but overall he won not a single round comfortably. Giving him FOUR or even FIVE FULL ROUNDS here is a bad joke and showing it's a corrupt decision where the home fighter wasn't allowed to lose. This is disgusting.

The corner of Mananquil knew it. They acted like they know he didn't lose it. Pathetic. The disgusting crowed cheered after every shot although most of them going to the air lol

Even you said it was possible to get to 77-75. That’s a pretty close fight. I also didn’t think it was the right decision but it’s not this huge robbery that you’re proclaiming that makes the Philippines as bad as those other countries lol.

In the best corrupt case for Mananquil you can have it like 77-75 Maruta. Still a Maruta win by the way.

Don’t think it was corrupt but the best case I could see for Mananquil is 76-76. Definitely not a win for him though.

All in all, I had it 78-74 Maruta. It’s possible to get to 76-76 although that’s giving every single close round to Mananquil (shame on the judge that had him winning). Maruta dominated the second half while Mananquil made the first half close especially with Maruta’s pace. The decision was not a good one as I thought Maruta won by a good four rounds but it wasn’t a horrendous nor implausible decision either.

    :dunno

Uh...strongly disagree. I had it a draw myself. A shutout for either is ridiculous.

I think you guys went in with the subconscious "Maruta is the guy I've heard of/is supposed to win" preconceived bias and scored, if unwittingly, against that backdrop. As though Marangquil had to somehow work harder to earn a share of points from you than he would if they were both complete unknowns in a vacuum. Sorry, but you guys missed the mark on this one @f1ght3rz and @CST80 - this was super close all throughout.
