Except I get to cast those kind of aspersions, whereas you don't. There is a double standard there, and one that is earned.

And yes, I threw it at CST as well, but he had openly admitted to his biases affecting his scoring. He makes no bones about that, he's refreshingly super honest about it.

I have my biases in boxing. I maintain to this day that Kessler would beat Calzaghe in a rematch, while most people probably think I'm deluded about that. But, those biases never touch my scoring, never have and never will and that integrity is something that I am known & valued for around here (not to mention, in this case my bias would have been in Maruta's favor anyway). CST himself would never hurl the accusation at me that you did, not even as a response to the net I cast over both of you. That's whole different level of insulting someone's integrity (consciously scoring on purpose to reach a particular result, rather than simply giving the "name guy" preferential treatment, those are different things and I can't explain it any more clearly if you're not getting it), and honestly if he did it would erupt into civil war on here.

The largest ever kirk's thread was 2017, and it hit page 666 in July...

This year's is on pace to nestle into 2nd place, unless there's a huge autumn/winter surge.

RD1: Maruta 10-9 - pretty clear, Mananquil didn’t do much besides trying to get to land the right hook, and fell short. Maruta controlled with the jab & landed some nice straight rights.

RD2: Mananquil 19-19 - much closer round, Mananquil landing some nice straight lefts to the body, and appeared to land quite a few shots on the inside earlier on in the round (couldn’t quite see what landed due to camera angle) and landed a few nice punches towards the end of the round, Maruta not quite doing enough for me

RD3: Mananquil 29-28 - Mananquil landing the harder, cleaner shots. Maruta far too hesitant, trying to land singles and 1-2s and not quite landing & not frequently throwing enough

RD4: Maruta 38-38 - Clear Maruta round, pressing the action a lot more in this round, landing a lot more shots, Mananquil didn’t appear to land much

RD5: Maruta 47-48 - bit of a pick ‘em round. I just edged it for Maruta (won’t be able to analyse as much as I’m checking in at airport lol)

RD6: Maruta 56-58 - Mananquil landing some good shots but Maruta seemed to land more and put the pressure on in the last part of the round, another close round

RD7: Maruta 65-68 - Mananquil looks to be tiring now, Maruta controlling the fight & landing more punches. Mananquil seems to get a burst of energy towards the end of the round and land a couple of good body shots & clean left hook, but too little, too late

RD 8: Maruta - had quite a few vodkas between 6-8 and cba to write anymore

    74-78 Maruta
    I could see 75-77 also

Lol most of the people didn't even notice that there was an asian fight today and you are arguing so much about it. It's not a big deal, weird scorecards are happening every week

I want to ban you for saying Bye Felicia.

The fight had a few close rounds, the 3rd, 4th and 6th were all close rounds, the best I could see for Mananquil was 78-74, maybe 77-75. But I don't get where you're coming from at all with the last two rounds, I agree with @PinoyProdigy's assessment of them. Was a draw plausible, sure. But the 77-75 Mananquil card was an absolute abomination.

I'll review 7 & 8 for the sake of argument, but I trust my original gut instincts. Viewing live they were Marangquil's flourish on staving off a clear loss. I had Maruta up through six.

I watched the fight, and couldn't bother with scoring after 2 rounds.
It's a hard fight to score and a hard fight to watch, you have a stationary camera that doesn't follow the fighters, you have a Japanese lady keep screaming on top of her head and you have partisan filos crowd who shout and applaud each time the home fighter touches the Japanese.
I think both fighters get their licks in. I am more closer to IB and Pinoy's judgment thinking it could be a close fight.
    It's subjective folks.
But I agree with CST80 and fighterz that Maruta is coming strong in the last 2 rounds.
In essence I think you are both not wrong in the scoring, a slight home favouring but it's expected.
