Way too many people are getting upset about this fight.

I for one am buzzing it lived up to the hype and was an excellent high level fight with lots of action.

Bring on a trilogy fight imo.

I have a huge amount of respect for IB and his scoring, I actually agreed with him tonight tbh

But I'm still not calling it a robbery.

Have you ever considered that maybe you're just an emotionally detached sociopath?

I havent scored the fight round by round so really my opinion means jack **** right now, but... Im kinda tripped out about everyone saying it was a robbery.

From the outside (meaning... going as a whole and not round by round) I felt Canelo edged a wicked close fight. I think he imposed himself more on G than G did on him, and felt he dictated the fight in the majority of the rounds. To me he had the cleaner more effective work.

Im actually a bit surpised at all the robbery talk.

I look forward to rewatching it and actually scoring it round by round but I dont think my view will change much.

As for the fight itself... I felt this was a much better fight than their first fight. Very good stuff.

Canelo did better than I thought he would do early... and worse than I thought he would do late. But overall I thought he looked pretty good.

G pretty much looked like I thought he would, unfortunately. Which is... old. There is no doubt in my mind if this was a younger G that he would win convincingly. But alas... hes 36, and imo, it showed.

I thought a slimmer Canelo would have better stamina in the championship rounds and that he would land a huge counter on a tired and wide open G and rock him... but Canelo was just as if not more tired than G, and unlike the first fight he didnt regain his composure in quite the same manner, imo.

Anyways... crazy close fight from the outside looking in. I look forward to rewatching it and scoring it round by round. But again, from the outside looking in, Canelo pressed the fight, dictated the action, and was more effective.

Sometimes in fights though appearences can be decieving, and when you actually score it round by round, its different than the fight as a whole would lead you to believe.

So hopefully Ill get a chance to rewatch it this week.

    I meant to also add...

As good as this fight was... I didnt enjoy it as much as I should have.

This might catch some hate but... honestly, even though the fight itself was a good fight, I hate to say that I think the level it was fought at, is a bit overrated.

Golovkin is so obviously there for the taking. He is old, he borderline gassed out in a few rounds, sloppy, ect... and then you have Canelo, who while good... lets be honest, at his absolute peak, couldnt come away with a controversy free win.

I just feel it was a level below what it should have been... but the 'fun' factor and the action was nice. But I just wanted 'more' from it. Idk.

I didn't watch the fight, listened to it instead, but your second post sums up how I felt about it for awhile. That these two aren't the titanic figures that the hype suggests. Anyway two good posts which I enjoyed reading.
