5. Maniac Cop - I actually didn't care for most of the first, much as I loved the sequel.

HM: Spoorloos, Child's Play, Waxwork, Monkey Shines, Poltergeist III (They Live is pure Sci-Fi, not counting it).
-Spoorloos is the most overrated crap ever. It was so dumb. The guy confesses to killing your girlfriend and instead of beating the **** out of him and calling the cops, you let him inject you with sleeping drugs so he can do the same to you? This guy did society a favor ridding it of one of the biggest morons ever. The kids in the slasher films don't actually tie themselves up and sharpen the knives. I'm kind of angry anyone likes this film.

Also, why's Child's Play not make the top 10? I've heard good things about ****** Shines, and why do you need to do that o thing for the filter? Racism? Poltergeist III still ****s with me. Mirrors, glass, reflective surfaces, are still scary.

Top 10 Horror Films Of 1987
1. Predator - more of an action/sci-fi movie, but under your criteria... When I did my list I didn't include some serial killer stuff like 2008's The Chaser because I thought it might better fall into detective/thriller.
2. The Lost Boys - One thing I never could stand about living in Santa Carla, all the goddamn vampires.
3. Opera - need to see this
4. The Monster Squad - now that I'm older, this and Goonies seems cheesy
5. Aquarius: Stage Fright
6. Prince Of Darkness - holds up
7. Jaws The Revenge - "Chief Brody's widow believes that her family is deliberately being targeted by another shark in search of revenge." 2.9 score on imdb. Seems legit.
8. Near Dark - not as good as Jaws the Revenge?
9. A Return To Salem's Lot
10. Hellraiser - come on man, Pinhead and the Cenobites deserve more love than that.

HM: A Chinese Ghost Story - this was actually a really good movie, the cinematography, the special effects, fight choreography, lighting, editing, etc.

8. Critters - was this the one where a monster in the toilet bit a guy when he sat down to poop? Or was that Ghoulies?
9. Manhunter - didn't do much for me. The guy playing Hannibal Lecter had none of Anthony Hopkins gravitas.
10. Night Of The Creeps

HM: Henry Portrait Of A Serial Killer - I've heard this one is so intense and graphic that the actors had breakdowns on the set.

1. Phenomena - This looks like a trip. "It's perfectly normal for insects to be slightly telepathic." Oh, really?
2. Day Of The Dead - so much darker than Dawn. I liked Bob the intelligent zombie but the rest was kind of a downer.
3. The Return Of The Living Dead- I wish that hot zombie chick had a bigger role.

5. Silver Bullet
6. Fright Night - I remember watching this and loving it. Amusingly, the kid's love interest is Amanda Bearse. I was like "You're wasting your time, dude! She's gay."
7. Lifeforce - s'alright and the chick was hot
8. Re-Animator - good film
9. The Mutilator
10. Friday The 13th Part 5: A New Beginning

7. Firestarter - I didn't think of this as horror. I just thought of it as awesome sci-fi action.
