    Tabiti has to be the most boring prospect I have ever seen, his fight against Cunningham was one of the worst fight I’ve ever seen. As bad as Okolies last performance was I would pick him to beat Tabiti not that I would ever wanna see it.

    I'm a huge mark for Bruce Campbell in spite of my dislike of the Evil Dead sequels, so the presence of Atkins, Z'Dar, Campbell and Shaft make up for the lack of badass zombie Maniac Cop make up, although I do prefer Part 2 to the first as well.

    Spoorloos may be overrated, but I couldn't then, and still can't shake the overall atmosphere of it. I try not to dwell on plotholes and inconsistencies too much when it comes to horror, which is an illogical genre to begin with.

    Child's Play came close, but I just didn't like it more than my Top 10, like I said, it was a brilliant year.

    If I could have a 7 way tie for 4th place, I would, but that's not how I roll.:deal: I love Hellraiser dearly, but 87 and 88 both had a huge impact on me, since that's when my sister started taking me to the theaters to see these films, irresponsibly I might add.:lol:

    Jaws The Revenge is awful, but its gloriously awful, it holds a special place in my heart, Near Dark is technically better, but not as fun.

    Love Chines Ghost Story, but lack of characters to connect with kept it off my Top 10.

    That's Ghoulies, and its from 1985, I also fixed my 85 list to drop The Mutilator and add Ghoulies. It was the very first film I saw in the theaters.:risas3:

    Don't like any of the Lecter films all that much tbh, and quite frankly its always disturbed the hell out of me that people so frequently identify with a cannibal sociopath in a favorable way.

    Yes Henry is that intense, which is why I don't enjoy watching it. At all, its an accomplishment, but not fun.

    It is a trip, and oddly haunting at the same time. Its a beautifully crafted film. Which is very hard to shake.

    Linnea Quigley's finest hour, I watched that scene with her on the tombstone over and over as a kid.:D

    Thankfully for me, Bearse had already been ruined by Married With Children adn the tabloid reports she was a lesbo. I saw Fright Night when I was around 12 or so, I saw Part 2 before I saw the first one actually.

    Phenomena had one of the best opening scenes of the 1980's, although this clip isn't the whole thing. That's the directors other older daughter Fiore Argento. Asia is the one caught up in the sex scandal at the moment.

    She get stabbed and fall out a window? I saw a lot of girls getting stabbed and falling out of windows in the trailer.

    That Asia Argento, I don't even mind her screwing that young man. Good for her. He's a bit of a rat though. But I am glad that she's been shown to be a hypocrite what with her spearheading the metoo movement. You know that whole thing is riddled with hypocrites and women who slept their way to the top.

    You know what I always think of when I think great movie opening? The first five minute scene in Fritz Lang's Testament of Dr. Mabuse. Can't find a clip of just that, but the whole thing is up on youtube and I think it's out of copyright. Scene starts 2 minutes in so skip the credits if you want to.

    I'm not sure that people are identifying with Lecter. People loved Javier Bardem's Anton Chighur and Daniel Day Lewis' Bill the Butcher. They loved Hans Gruber, Agent Smith, and Darth Vader. Maybe, it's a combination of great acting and an interesting character. He's kind of like Bela Lugosi's Dracula, suave and sophisticated. He doesn't bring all the low brow disgusting elements serial killers usually bring. He's not Leatherface. He's a genius, and we've been raised all our lives to admire geniuses. He's that Moriarte kind of villain. But there are lots of films that had great performances or interesting characters that didn't rise to the level of Silence of the Lambs. Silence had all kinds of good things going for it. I mean, Jodie Foster wasn't half bad as Clarice Starling, and Jonathan Demme did a hell of a job directing. The writing was crisp and memorable. The sound was excellent. Great editing. Good cinematography. So many memorable scenes.

    Nope, she got beheaded next to a waterfall after being attacked in the house and running out.

    Yeah, I don't give a damn about what she did, it doesn't bother me in the least, but its her strident self righteous act she's put on since #MeToo started, when the reality is, she basically admitted she went right along with Weinstein to further her career, even going so far as to date him for a time. She wasn't the victim of a damn thing. That being said, he's scum for a variety of other reasons.

    Yeah, that's a solid scene, I haven't seen that in a really long time, I'd almost forgotten about it entirely. Fritz Lang movies tend to have that effect on me, except for Metropolis.

    For the reasons you listed, I detest his character more than most, there's something about cannibalism that really unnerves me, especially when being committed by what you think are erudite intellectuals, there's something a little extra evil when its guys like him committing it. I do think there's a part of this country that are a little too fascinated with bad people for all the wrong reasons. I've actually grilled a few friends or mine and close family members, as to why they're so interested in Lecter, and they can't give me a reason, which truly unnerves me Its something primordial and primitive that he's tapping into, which I find extra ****ed up.:lol:
