It's just a tool the same as the radio or computers. They require experienced intelligent users to get the most out of them. Sopranos, South Park, All in the Family, Deadwood, Family Guy, etc. definitely brightened my life. To my generation, the television was the perfect babysitter. To me, it was more like a mother.

It's redundant at this point. Turn of the decade I lost interest in it almost completely. Anything that's good I watch via streaming services or own. Every time I watch TV either at a friend or relatives house the sheer bombardment of ads does my head in.

This will always been one of the greatest Metal albums ever. One of the few Doom Metal bands to completely separate themselves from Sabbath and create their own identity. Also great for the season.

I had the DVD box set of the first season of Sopranos, and I recently re-watched the whole show on HBO on Demand. No ads. Used to have boxed sets of All in the Family and Family Guy too.

I have hundreds of movies, but I rarely re-watch them any more. As a matter of satisfying a craving, sometimes you just want something different from what you usually have. For me, I buy a lot of high quality films that while excellent don't always hit the spot. It's like having pate, fois gras, escargot, champaigne, and filet mignon, but you just want a beer and cheeseburger. I like to relax and turn my brain off sometimes, watching a Law and Order or The First 48. And sometimes the randomness is the appeal. Also, you need tv for live stuff like sports and news.

I turn my brain off watching Youtube videos. But yeah I get that appeal TV still has to a lot of people, especially when it's been part of their routine for almost 20-30 years or even longer. I just lost interest.

I despise party line towing Leftist Hollywood film critics, and have for the last 25 years since I was a kid, I hate critics in general. Its expected when something like Sicario 2, Death Wish, The Hateful Eight comes out, they'll sharpen their claws and go on the attack. But now **** that's getting attacked or bashed by the Left is just bewildering. The film Slender Man of all things took it on the chin... Yeah okay, I get it, the film is exploiting the recent real life attack by a couple of crazy girls trying to appease the slender man by offering up one of their friends, that was terrible. But this film has nothing to do with that case. Its simply making a film about the Slender Man and all the online BS mythology built up around him. Its a goddamn exploitation horror film, all horror films exploit fears, tragedies, murders, traumas and victimization, they're about killers, monsters, ghouls etc. for God sakes.

Anyway, Slender Man has an 8% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. All the braying lockstep little PC Nazis have spoken, judging the film by its social justice rating as opposed to the actual merits of the film itself. And the idiots on IMDB who usually fall right in line, have the film sitting at 3.1 stars out of 10.

I don't give a damn what anyone says, I make up my own mind, so I watched it tonight, and I loved it. It was a silly, fun, creepy, spooky good solid little high school Horror film. The people in it were likable enough, the atmosphere was superb, a lot of nice very natural touches, like dogs barking in the neighborhood late at night, crickets, and trains going by blowing their horns off in the distance, completely out of sight, but lending to the overall ambiance, trying to strike a sense of familiarity chord with people who live in lower middle class suburban towns. There were a lot of nice subtle touches like that. Overall it was a solid little film. Was it amazing and the greatest thing since sliced bread. No, it wasn't, but what it was, is a serviceable very fun little time killer, that's creepy enough to stick with you for a little while and creep you out. Basically it does its primary function very well.

I love the walking dead but I stop 2-3 years ago. Maybe I will pick it up.
Maybe I should clarify. I do watch TV drama from time to time but I downloaded through torrents so technically I'm not watching it on TV when they were aired:)
