I see both @CST80 and @OvidsExile have taken this great movie list each year back to the black and white era.
Great job guys, both of your knowledge are impeccable, a real eye opener really and deserve much respect!
I can't wait to see when you guys down to the best silent movies. That is the era I anticipate the most:applaudit:

Now most of you can see where I'm coming from with my romanticization of Americana, and my support for Trump and the whole Make America Great Again ideal and how comes from a genuine place. A place that been shaped by the history of our society as told through the iconic artists of the past that have, while exaggerating and glossing over a few things, summed up and elevated everything good about our society and looked deeply into and analyzed the darker parts and tried to understand and condemn them at the same time. That's also where I think Trump and many Americans are coming from, I know most of my relatives when they think about the good old days, they're mainly thinking about the television, films, community, camaraderie, tradition, customs, and overall vibe the 30's through the 80's gave off. They call eras eras for a reason, there's an ambiance, a feel they give off, and people have a sense of nostalgia for those bygone times especially when that bygone time is captured in little time capsules called films. Are they looking at that time with rose tinted glasses, yes... but still, who doesn't long for the days when people weren't hyper negative, cynical, snarky unpleasant heels, and overall awful? Americana has zero to do with slavery, Jim Crow, women being held down, repression of LGBT, it has everything to do with the good elements, that so frequently get overlooked by morose hateful Marxist professors to embellish and hyper fixate on the negative aspects of our history.

Its a pity that Trump and so many other conservatives and working class liberals can't efficiently articulate that ideal a little better than they do. I get what they're going for, but sadly people are so caught up in looking for the negative, that they block out all of the positive things that the people in this country have produced. America and its inhabitants aren't perfect, and that's what film has so perfectly encapsulated for decades, making sense out of our flaws and foibles, and showcasing just how complex the human condition really is. Unfortunately Hollywood like so many other things that have come before, has been sacrificed on the alter postmodernism and all the nuance has been erased by the deconstructionists who are threatened due to their lack of true intellectual acuity, and are mere pretentious Marxist hacks looking for a way to shoehorn everything to fit their narrative. Which I find beyond depressing. Ironically all the people who seek to educate (brainwash) us all, they could really use some education themselves.

And I hop down off my soapbox.:D

You might not have to wait long for the silent films, I'm on a roll, I may very well finish it up tonight.
