Ok now that the civil war is over (dare I mention it) I will get to the bottom of the peoples champion mess, and then adjust the rules accordingly so this never happens again. We will have a more efficient system because of it. :good
Ok, saw Avengers 2, and The Imitation Game Beware, I have odd taste in movies and usually am a harsh critic. Avengers 2, ultra typical Marvel movie, pretty generic for the most part.... Marvel movies are as much comedy as they are anything else, though I felt this one fell kinda flat. Still though, liked it more than the first one while not as much as some other marvel films. Genre Rating : 5.5 out of 10 Overall Rating : 3.9 out of 10 Imitation Game While ironically simplistic, and formulaic, while tackling such an intelligent and complex subject (well, not really the subject but what they were doing : building a machine to crack Nazi codes) the performances won me over somewhat as did ultimately the story itself and that it turned me on to a subject I hadnt looked into yet. I found myself liking it despite itself... strong (though I think some will feel a bit over the top) performance from the lead character and a subject I find interesting, I enjoyed the movie overall. Genre Rating : 5.6 out of 10 Overall Rating : 5.6 out of 10

So the Wed of the previous week is when challenges will be accepted. I hope everyone involved, as a league, can move forward a better one with more fine tuning done to ensure we dont trip over the same rocks twice. My apologies to all involved for allowing cuts in the first place, and thank you to the participants for being understanding after the ruckus on accepting the course of action. New Rules effective immediately. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
Ya man pretty much. Though ultimately its pretty close if not identical to the first in quality and feel. I like it slightly more then the first mainly due to a more enjoyable villain for me... and my ability to enjoy its stupidity a little more then the first. Also had (shockingly) one minute of dialogue I actually liked, and a joke in there that I laughed pretty good at.
*Note to self, put up rule that if champion misses two challenges unmet (due to unpicked fights) they are stripped for the title and the two highest ranked posters will square off for it.
This content is protected It sucks because Blade will think hes getting robbed, and I truly feel for him, but all I can say is this * Beast had the first issued challenge, he allowed Pinoy to cut in front of him in line ON THE CONDITION that his challenge would still be honored by the winner (obviously he was allowing a challenge to take place that wouldnt effect HIS challenge) * Pinoy won, and hence Beast gets the challenge he had already in place against the winner * Blade didnt know thats what was going on, and simply sees that hes the first to challenge Pinoy (which is no fault of his) It was a situation where everyone thinks they were following the rules, and they were. However, Beast allowing Pinoy to cut in front of his challenge on the basis that he would still have his challenge met by the winner, superseded Blades challenge. It sucks for all involved, and ultimately its my fault for not having the rules to prevent this from happening, and instead actively allowed for it (even put it in the rules when it seemed people were ok with it) However, due to the confusion and fallout, there can simply be no more cuts in line once a challenge is set. When newcomers ask why not I will point to May 9th 2015 Blade, I actually feel for you on this, and I know this will **** you off and you might even decide to leave the league from it, but the truth and fact is, Beast would have never given up his first challenge to mvc if the condition wasnt that he still gets to challenge the winner on his Chudinov pick. Dont be mad at Beast, be mad at me as Im the one that didnt have the rules in place to prevent that and I regret that and I feel bad it lead to putting you in this position (and it just had to be the guy that did feel he was robbed in 2013, which also sucks). As for you thinking you were robbed in 2013, it would take a little time each day for probably a few days but its very doable to go through all your picks for 2013 (made much easier by sifting through only your posts and only my posts with the post archive button -you just click on the number of posts listed next to the thread, and it will give you a breakdown of who has how many posts, you then click on their postcount, and it will show you all their posts... makes it much easier to track individual posts) and you can tally up your record and my record and see if there were any mistakes made. I have made mistakes before, as Im sure I will again, and I know Pinoy while awesome isnt infallible, and thats just going week by week, let alone a huge gap like 2013, so its entirely realistic there are mistakes somewhere along the way that makes it always worth double checking our work, and the posts are there for anyone to tally. Again, I feel bad you are put in this position and if there was another way for me to rule that would be in your favor while being right, I would do it. But the fact is Beast had the first challenge and was queued for Pinoy before your challenge was set, despite it looking otherwise to someone only paying attention to when Pinoy picked up the title. I dont like that Pinoy puts in the work he does to keep the league running smoothly for there to be so much dissidence when something like this happens. People need to calm down, we will get to the bottom of it, and I will do what needs to be done to make things right and make sure we dont commit the same mistakes twice, and we will become a better league because of it, and yet at the same time I love the passion showed Its that passion that has kept the league alive all these years. Again I apologize about the mixup, it isnt the first, and while it wont be the last I hope its the last one for a long time and the last of its particular kind. Sometimes its things like this that lead to a more organized ruleset, unfortunately.
*Note to self I want to make a 2015 Peoples Champion statistic page, with our records for what weve done this year independent from the all time list.
Also, and its another thing I need to add to the official rules.... If you make a pick change, and its not found in the pages of this thread, it doesnt count. Sucks for some of us that go back and forth with picks, especially in the round by round threads, but it is what it is. I dont like grey areas that can lead to confusion (which is exactly what happened in the peoples champion case) and I dont like the record keeper having to feel like the bad guy for not allowing exceptions. So, everyone knows now, there will be no exceptions, if you make a pick change it needs to be listed in the league forum. Sidenote : Another reminder from here on out, which will help prevent this from happening as well, final picks must be in a half an hour before the fight. Theres many fights happening all over the world and nobody is keeping track if your KO1 prediction change from a UD happened 'when they were walking to the ring' or during the first round.... so to help make an obvious gap between your pick and the fight starting, that buffer is put into place. Thems the rules :good
