You should know MD and SD are both counted as KO.
If you pick an MD and the fight ends a SD you still get the KO :good

 

Have you guys seen Chagavev entrance against Oquendo. Epic.. so cool, about traditions, respecting the elders. One of the best I've ever seen. Almost like the beginning of a movie. Warriors on his left and right, beating their swords against their shield, kids dancing traditional dance. I just seen it now.. Crazy I tell you. Red tip swords being hammered down into weapons.
