    Daaaammmmnnnn!!!!!!!!

I havent been that afraid during a fight in a loonng time..... i couldnt believe my eyes in the 12th! I was screaming for martinez to just grab jr and I thought the ref was going to stop the fight.... what a rollercoaster of a last round after a completely one sided fight.

wow..... im glad martinez was able to hang on for victory.

And no, I dont want a rematch.

I want Martinez to move back down to 154 where he belongs and fight Canelo, or Cotto, or Mayweather. If he moved back down, made a statement that its his division again, they couldnt avoid him for long now that his stock has risen so much.

Dear Lord Dear Lord! I was literally near-heart attack, a real one. Props to Jr, but Martinez skooled dat ass, then traded a bit too much, reminds me of John-Juarez II ending.

    What a weekend!

Whoooo! What a weekend that was! Didn't expect Chavez to be that defensive for the fight, and what a finish that was. I tip my hat to Chavez, he showed grit, determination, and heart trying to pull that off. Chavez may have lost, but he definitely earned my respect. Martinez though, is just a beast, hell of a masterclass he put on there. Like I say, I didn't expect Chavez to be so defensive, but hey, good fight, I still won some money, but not as much as I expected.

...:think You'd describe Chavez's behavior for the first 11 as "defensive"?

Usually defense involves not getting hit, or at least trying not to. :yep I'd describe it with words more like "dumbstruck", "spellbound", or "helpless".

 What did Merchant say during the Mosley-Margarito fight? Margarito's defense is trying to eat punches and break Mosley's jaw...? Something like that? I don't remember the exact quote, but yeah, that was Chavez' defense. But, anyway, I didn't expect Chavez to be on the back foot, as often as he was for the fight. I expected him to come in aggressive, and throwing punches, getting countered, etc. much more.

Just rewatched the 12th round. You know I give so much credit to JR for the 12th.... after getting hammered and outboxed like he did for almost the entire fight, many fighters would have given up on themselves or maybe looked to not absorb much more punishment in the 12th, but JR grit his teeth and gave it all he got. Awesome to see and I think even though I like to poke fun at him due to his fans being radical on here, I think he can be proud of that. What an epic round.

Been looking at the records of some of todays more popular champions n fighters. By no means does this tell a big story at all I just found these numbers interesting.

The opponents combined record of the last 7 fights of

    Martinez : 246-6
    Mayweather : 308-26
    Pac : 279-22
    Andre Ward : 212-13
    Miguel Cotto : 255-20
    JMM : 242-13
    Canelo Alvarez : 266-38
    Mares : 185-26
    Adamek : 248-34
    Froch : 224-19
    Bute : 238-31
    Danny Garcia : 184-36
    Khan : 201-11

Opponents Winning % of each fighter

    Martinez 97%
    Ward 94%
    Mayweather 94%
    JMM 94%
    Khan 94%
    Pac 92%
    Cotto 92%
    Froch 92%
    Bute 88%
    Mares 87%
    Adamek 87%
    Canelo 87%
    Danny Garcia 83%

I could go on and on but i dont have the time. I dont know why i like looking at such things  kinda interesting though, although fairly pointless to a certain degree.

That is just freaking amazing  I must have watched it 10 times by now and each time its just awesome. What an amazing finish.... I am so happy Martinez made it to the final bell, great job by the ref the entire fight as well. And Jr's determination was inspiring.

    Just what boxing is about.
