It's not bull****...it's in the rules. Since Kirk's not here...those are the only things to really go by :conf
Refer to the first page of the thread...it's in the flyer...under the header labeled "RULES"...the link is there for you to see :good
I realise the rules are the rules and whatever, its just an utterly pointless rule that serves no real purpose at all. And it definitely wasn't like that last year, I changed results late no problem.
Kirk most likely favored you... EDIT: It's still really early in the 2009 season...why whine about the first loss...you'll redeem yourself later on I'm sure of it.
I'm not whining about the first loss. I don't really care about that because I know I got it correct. It's the rule that pisses me off because it effects the whole season and I'll tell you why... This thread never stays on the first page. That means when people make preliminary picks, the thread just drifts off the page and people forget about it, like I did. Its easy to forget to do some research on the fight, and then suddenly..****...its fight night. I don't have time to trawl through videos on weekdays when I work. It only penalises loyal participants that bother to put their full effort into doing well in the league. I mean I was really late this time, but other times I'd see it on the day and do a quick scouting mission on YouTube...but now its some 24 hours horse ****. Oh well, I've learnt my lesson.
I would love to change it because you saw something that virtually no one saw except for Huki and some other guy... But if I do, we'd get **** from everyone participating. It also wouldn't be fair to the small few who DID manage to predict the fight WAAAAAYYYY in advanced...they saw what you saw and put in the time early enough to pick the correct choice... You'll most likely kick most of our asses later on...don't worry about it...If it bothers you that the rules are circulated enough...I'll be sure to kick it up every few pages or so :good
Well, I wouldn't exactly expect that result to be overturned or it would lose the faith of all participants in the system. I just think its a poor rule that should be looked at next time the board of directors sit down. If the league got to a huge size where people were posting everywhere, and it was too confusing and time consuming to check posts, I could see a reason for it. Or if the thread was stickied, there would be no excuse for people not to pick well in advance. But thats not the case, thats my main problems with it. I guess I'll just get into a routine of sitting down on Friday evenings and checking this thread to see if I'm happy with what I picked.
I'm confused. How many fights do I still have left to pick? And how many fighters have had changes in opponents recently?
I don't mean to sound in charge or part of the board either... I know in most people's eyes I'm a noob...but I'm just going by the rules and only started updating everyone's scores and picks because no one else was really doing it. But I think it's a good rule nonetheless...but I can see your frustrations though. Maybe a poll should be conducted as to who the scorekeeper should be while Kirk is away? :think Unless everyone is fine with me keeping updates...
I havn't got a problem with your scoring. You are just collating the results in conjunction with the rules as they've been set out, we don't need a member of NASA to do that. Your work is appreciated. Tommy, you've picked all of the fights. Just keep in mind Huck is now fighting some guy called Batello instead of Safanov. Please pick this within 24 hours or it WILL NOT count :blood
I'm good with you scoring as well Varg. That's two ESB Champs approving your scorekeeping, which should be all you need. :good
