This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected Jamie Moore 24-3 (17 KO's) VS This content is protected Matthew Macklin 17-1 (13 KO's) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected --------------------------------------------------- Not a huge box office ppv fight, or even one that is well known in United States, but at the time it was a highly anticipated domestic showdown in the UK. Jamie Moore was a tough, no nonsense fighter coming in at 24-3, and facing off with the strong Macklin who was 17-1 with 13 of those wins coming by way of stoppage. These two warriors put it all on the line that night, and neather was going to go down without fighting every inch of the way. Not p4p skill, and not fighting for any undisputed world title, but two warriors facing off with world class wills and toughness, and throwing shots with the worst intentions all night. Nothing but respect for what these two displayed that night. That has to be the most intelligent thing I've ever heard from you! Are you secretly schooling yourself?
This is not helping I dont want to pick Solis. But might have to. I will be happy if I am wrong, but I think Solis might be the wrong opponent at the wrong time (despite his fatness) for the aging Vitali. Still..... not going official yet.... just thinking :yep
wanna make a bet? I have anything between This content is protected and This content is protected on Vitali :hey
Rubin "The Hurricane" Carter This content is protected The story of Rubin "The Hurricane" Carter, is one of those unique and absolutely amazing stories that every boxing fan should know. Through out his early years as a boy, teenager, and young man he was in and out of prison. He started his boxing career in 1961 and had a lot of success with his relentless aggressive style. This content is protected The first 2 years of his career he fought tough competition, but won most of his fights. The world first took notice of him, when he completely annihilated the former 4 time, and 2 divisional champion Emile Griffith. This cleared the way for his first and only title shot against Joey Giardello. This content is protected He lost this fight by UD, after having had alot of success in the early rounds. Some people claim the decision to have been somewhat controversial. In 1967 Rubin Carter was sentenced for the murder of 3 white people. He claimed to be innocent and during his prison time alot of people, including Bob Dylan, walked the streets demanding his release. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLDSdnHWaSU[/ame] Carter sat in jail for almost 20 years. This content is protected During his time in prison he wrote the book: The Sixteenth Round, in which he told his story. This content is protected (Amazing book by the way. Comes highly recommended) He lost an appeal twice before a white jury. After hard work he got an audience before the federal court. This time he had more luck and was released by Judge Haddon Lee Sarokin. This content is protected Today he lives in Toronto and works as the executive director of the "Association in Defense of the Wrongly Convicted". After his release he was awarded the WBC Middleweight title, an honor that never has been giveng outside the ring.
